Sovereign Hill is situated on the site of the richest alluvial gold rush in the world! Here you can explore Red Hill Gully diggings, visit the Gold museum with its impressive collection of genuine Gold and the fully operating township. You can also talk to blacksmiths, ride a stagecoach, try some homemade sweets or Devonshire Teas at the New York Bakery, even take photos in period dress!
Visit Ballarat Wildlife Park
You also have the opportunity to visit the Ballarat Wildlife Park. The Ballarat Australian Wildlife Park is a high standard fauna reserve which encourages you to meet Australian native animals. A guided tour of the park will introduce you to wombats, koalas, Tasmanian Devils, goannas, lizards, emus, crocodiles and so much more! You'll also have the opportunity to hand feed kangaroos (this is an added option and will be at your own expense).
