Back in the 1850's Victoria experienced a gold rush and many towns sprang from the gold fields, including, Ballarat and Sovereign Hill.

Enjoy a complete town tour of Ballarat with highlights including Lake Wendouree, picturesque 19th century buildings, beautiful gardens, historical churches and the Eureka Stockade Centre, a state-of-the-art multi-media complex, which brings to life the 1854 miners uprising.

 

Explore Sovereign Hill
 
Sovereign Hill is situated on the site of the richest alluvial gold rush in the world! Here you can explore Red Hill Gully diggings, visit the Gold museum with its impressive collection of genuine Gold and the fully operating township. You can also talk to blacksmiths, ride a stagecoach, try some homemade sweets or Devonshire Teas at the New York Bakery, even take photos in period dress!
 
Visit Ballarat Wildlife Park
 
You also have the opportunity to visit the Ballarat Wildlife Park. The Ballarat Australian Wildlife Park is a high standard fauna reserve which encourages you to meet Australian native animals. A guided tour of the park will introduce you to wombats, koalas, Tasmanian Devils, goannas, lizards, emus, crocodiles and so much more! You'll also have the opportunity to hand feed kangaroos (this is an added option and will be at your own expense).

Tour Departs: 8.20am and returns around 5.30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday
This tour departs from Melbourne Day Tour Centre, Federation Square East, corner Flinders & Russell Streets, Melbourne or free hotel pick-ups available from your CBD hotel or our departure point at Federation Square. In some instances, we may need to pick up from a nearby hotel if we cannot pick up directly from your accommodation due to restrictions beyond our control.

  • Cancellations within 72 and 24 hours of departure: 50% of the total cost
  • Cancellations within 24 hours of departure: 100% of the cost
