Kicking off in the beautiful Tasmanian capital of Hobart, we start our amazing tour in the city centre, with pick up from the Tasmanian Tourist Information Centre at 9:15am. Sit back, relax and enjoy the scenic drive through the lush countryside as we head to Mt Nelson Brasserie at Mt Nelson Signal Station for morning tea, fruit toast and outstanding panoramas of the Derwent River and Storm Bay.
Built in 1811, the Mt Nelson Signal Station offers a fascinating insight into the history of Tasmania. Uncover the history of the region and how the signal station shaped the Tasmanian shipping industry before we settle in for a 20-minute drive through rolling hills on our way to the historic township of Ranela, where we visit the beautiful Home Hill vineyard for our first wine tasting experience of the day. Sample a varietal of the local specialities as we learn about the winemaking industry and explore the stunning vineyards.
Next up, we head to the incredible Pagan Cidery. The southernmost region in Australia, the spectacular Huon Valley has some of the best apple- growing conditions in the world and the orchards here are famed for their delicious abundance of fruit. Pagan Cider’s motto is all about blending the old with the new, combining traditional craft and modern innovation to capture the natural flavours and aromas of the local apples to produce a delicious premium cider. Enjoy sampling an array of Pagan Cider’s mouthwatering ciders as we learn about the history of cider making in the Huon Valley region.
Just before lunch, we stop off in the foodie haven of Cygnet. Home to Tasmania’s award-winning Cygneture Chocolate factory, this beautiful old township is the perfect place to stop in to taste these delicious chocolates, hand-crafted using the Huon Valley’s finest ingredients. Savour the delectable flavours as we journey back to Home Hill vineyard for a spectacular lunch platter. Choose from a selection of seasonal dishes on our special menu, designed to showcase the best of the local flavours and fresh produce. Complement your meal with a free glass of your favourite wine, and enjoy the breathtaking views of our amazing vineyards. Built to accentuate the incredible colours, textures and natural beauty of the spectacular countryside, Home Hill was constructed using rammed earth, local hardwoods and polished cement, for a modern twist on a traditional cellar door.
Our final location on this whistle-stop tour of Huon Valley’s best wineries and cideries is the amazing Wille Smiths Cider. With orchards dating back to 1888, Willie Smith’s Cidery is home to Australia’s oldest organic cider, produced on site and crafted and matured in French oak to deliver a traditional farmhouse style cider, full of character and delicious local flavours. Enjoy sampling an array of different ciders as well as Willie Smith’s incredible Apple Schnapps, distilled from the Organic Apple Cider.

Tour variations/cancellations may occur due to extreme weather conditions, vineyard closures, last minute changes received from vineyards or traffic disruptions. If any of these circumstances should arise, we will revise the itinerary to impact the remainder of the tour as little as possible
