Top Things to Do in Honolulu

Historic Sites

Visit Pearl Harbor, a National Historic Landmark that houses several attractions that are part of the World War II Valor in the Pacific Monument. The USS Arizona Memorial is the most visited attraction in Hawaii. Free tours begin at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Centre and you’ll get to learn about the tragic attack in 1941 and other aspects of military history through onshore exhibitions and a video remembrance of the attack. Be sure to secure your tickets prior visiting as tickets are likely to sell out due to its high popularity!

Iolani Palace is America’s only royal palace and is the official residence of the Hawaii monarchy. The palace was deposed by American settlers but has been restored and open to the public as a museum. Visitors can get a glimpse of the exquisite interior and learn about the rich Hawaiian history and culture.

Beautiful Scenery

Waikiki Beach is famous for being a world-class surfing destination and for its postcard perfect scenery. The shimmery white sands and calm waters of Waikiki Beach creates the perfect spot to surf and sunbathe. Enjoy a popular hiking trail accompanied by a spectacular coastal view at the Diamond Head Crater, one of the most iconic features in Honolulu. Some other great options include hiking Manoa Falls trail, the filming site for Jurassic Park; snorkelling in Hanauma Bay and visiting the lookout at Nu’uanu Pali for that stunning panoramic view. Guided tour is an excellent option to get around Honolulu to spend the day viewing scenic highlights while learning about the region!

Family Fun

Looking for fun family activities to do when you’re in Honolulu? Visit the Bishop Museum, the premier natural and cultural history institution in the Pacific. Take a deep dive with your loved ones into the rich Hawaiian history, culture and traditions through interactive displays and even hands-on stations.

If you and your family are into surfing, a drive up to the North Shore is one not to be missed. North Shore is home to some of the world’s famous surf breaks but there’s plenty to do other than surfing such as boutique shopping and eating shaved ice.

Spend a day at the Polynesian Cultural Centre, a realistic looking and interactive village that showcases the culture and traditions of people in the Pacific. The centre is also a popular spot for offering one of the best luau programs in Oahu so if you’re interested, secure your spot early to avoid disappointment
