It is a safety requirement for Hot Air that all of our travellers are able to walk from the bus across to the balloon basket, board the basket via two foot holes (1.2m in height) and stand for the duration of the flight all unassisted. 

The quick answer is no you cant drive your own vehicle to watch us take off at our launch site. As we are entering Private properties, with specific permissions, we have a responsibility to know who is under our control and who is not, also those people travelling with us officially are covered by our Insurance on behalf of the property as a requirement.

We take off at a different location everyday, depending on the wind direction and speed, so we never know in advance where that will be and the decision on a launch site location is only taken just before dawn. We are unable to say where this will be to guide you therefore.

All ballooning in Australia and the Gold Coast have early morning departures only. Ballooning requires cool air temperatures and stable wind patterns that are most reliable in the early hours of the morning within the first few hours of daylight. On the Gold Coast we are fortunate to have some of the best ballooning conditions in the world. We schedule departures daily all year round with a great take off rate. You will also agree that the early morning is a spectacular time to witness views from above.

Please wait in the lobby/reception of your hotel. Your Hot Air Balloon Gold Coast driver will come in and collect you so you are not waiting outside in the early hours of the morning. Hot Air Ballooning is very weather dependent so it is important that you are ready to leave when your driver arrives or you will miss your flight. Please have your ticket or booking confirmation ready to show the driver.

We can call and sms international numbers but we do nee to know the international country code (number with + at the beginning). When you book your balloon ride from Gold Coast please make sure we know which country you are traveling from and all of your best contact details in case we need to reach you.

The basket is 1.2 mts in height and has two foot holds in the side of the basket to use like a ladder to aid climbing into and out of the basket. Everyone that participates in a Hot Air balloon Gold Coast ride must be able to climb into the basket unaided and stand for the duration of the flight.

There is no minimum requirement for ballooning from the Gold Coast. We depart daily all year round (excluding Christmas Day 25th December and New Years Day 1st January). We recommend you book at least a week ahead to avoid disappointment as we often sell out.
