Day 1 - Darwin to Kakadu National Park via Mary River Wildlife Cruise (lunch & dinner)
Be ready for collection from your Darwin accommodation at approximately 6:30 am. It's an early start, but the wonders of the Mary River Wetlands are waiting. This region is home to the largest concentration of saltwater crocodiles in the world as well as a huge variety of birds and other local wildlife. This is an amazing chance to encounter these species in their natural habitat.
Explore the region on a wildlife cruise and get up close to the animals! There'll be plenty of opportunities to take pictures.
Later, wend your way along the water to enter Kakadu National Park via the South Alligator River. This is a picturesque location perfect for a picnic lunch! It also has a visitor centre with tons of Aboriginal art and crafts available for purchase.
Next, head over to Ubirr where you can view a wide range of ancient Aboriginal art that will be interpreted by your guide. Enjoy spectacular panoramic views over the floodplain and beyond into Arnhem Land and learn the story of the Rainbow Serpent.
Once night falls, head to your private campsite for dinner and an overnight sleep in a swag!
Day 2 - Twin and Jim Jim Falls to Litchfield National Park (breakfast, lunch & dinner)
Day two! Today is the day to venture off the beaten track for a day of adventure and explore world heritage listed Kakadu National Park.
After breakfast, leave your camp and journey towards the majestic Twin Falls Gorge. This spot is so remote it can only be accessed by a 4WD, followed by a boat shuttle and a finally a boardwalk. Marvel at its remote beauty and don’t forget to look out for the freshwater crocodiles and pig-nosed turtles breeding on the tiny beaches along the gorge.
Next, take a wander through monsoon forests and over boulders to Kakadu’s main attraction – Jim Jim Falls. A spectacular falls surrounded by 150-metre red ochre cliffs, this is a great spot for some photos and a quick dip.
Later in the afternoon, depart in search of Litchfield National Park, an oasis home to stunning waterfalls, iconic termite mounds and sandstone pillars. Along the way stop at your private campsite and cook up a hearty meal with your fellow adventurers.
Day 3 - Litchfield National Park to Darwin (breakfast, lunch)
Spend your last day swimming and hiking through the streams, rugged sandstone escarpments and cascading waterfalls of Litchfield’s National Park.
Admire the region’s magnetic and cathedral termite mounds – amazing architectural feats up to two metres high complete with arches, chimneys, tunnels and chambers.
Discover the spectacular double falls at Florence and Wangi Falls and dive into the refreshing Buley Rockhole pools, before an early evening arrival back in Darwin.
