Why do we love this
"We love it because you get to climb Auckland SkyTower! This is the Southern Hemisphere's tallest tower and the tallest man-made structure in New Zealand!"
WHAT TO EXPECT
Feeling brave? Do you dare to walk to the edge of the Southern Hemisphere's tallest tower? Embark on the SkyWalk experience at Auckland's Sky Tower and take in spectacular 360° panoramic views of the city, the harbour and the islands beyond. This is the ultimate adrenaline activity!
Start at Mission Control where you'll get suited up in a custom SkyWalk full-body suit as well as a safety harness. You'll then take the ride up in a high-speed glass-front elevator, before taking your first steps onto the outside walkway. Here, step-by-step, you'll traverse the tower on the 1-metre wide walkway! There's no railings or handles so it's a real adrenaline rush! Feel nothing but the open air around you as you balance 192 metres above ground level. This will be an experience you'll never forget!
You'll also receive a free ticket to go back up the Sky Tower after your SkyJump/SkyWalk. You can use this once at any time during the same day, so think about going up at sunset or after dark for a different perspective!
Auckland Sky Tower: Skywalk Experience
Unfortunately, no spaces available for selected dates.
We are open every day of the year (wind and weather permitting), except Christmas Day, December 25th, as even legends like us need a day off! SkyWalk is open 10.00am to 4.30pm. SkyWalk adventures depart throughout the day, with a maximum of six SkyWalkers each trip.
Yes, it does. As a bonus, we give you a free ticket to go back up the Sky Tower after your SkyWalk. It can be used once anytime during the same day, so you may want to go up at sunset or after dark for a different perspective.
If you want to reschedule, just get in touch with us more than 24 hours before your booking and we will do our best to move you to the new time you are wanting. In the event that SkyJump or SkyWalk is unable to operate due to weather conditions (high winds or heavy rain) we will give you the opportunity to rebook, or a full refund will be given. All efforts will be made to contact you in advance of your scheduled time, so please make sure you leave us a contact number when you make your booking.
No chance! During your SkyWalk experience, you wear a coverall type suit that prevents objects from being released. We also check you for objects like coins etc during the gear-up process to ensure you don't carry any loose items. For this reason, you are unable to take your own camera during your SkyWalk.
From check in at Mission Control to waving our team goodbye with a huge smile on your dial, the SkyWalk experience takes around 75 minutes. It's the perfect Auckland adventure activity for those on a tight schedule!
Need some Dutch courage before you SkyWalk? No problem! But just keep it to one glass as we are required to breathalyse people before they SkyWalk and you must be under 400 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath.
You don't have to bring anything with you as we provide all equipment. But we do need you to wear lace up shoes. We don't want to see your jandals flying over the city or hitting innocent pedestrians! If you don't have lace up shoes we have some very tasty ones you can borrow for the walk.
The minimum weight limit for the SkyWalk is 35kgs. However, in strong winds this is increased to 45kgs.
The minimum age for SkyWalk is 10. No maximum age.
The only physical requirement for SkyWalk is the ability to reliably walk around the walkway. SkyWalk has created a way for people with some physical limitations to participate in a SkyWalk by using a Hand Gliding harness, where you can simply harness in and glide around.
Transport is not included for Sky Jump and SkyWalk
