Day One - Saturday: Arrival in Venice

Welcome to the tour. Check-in starts from 2 pm. If you arrive earlier, you can leave your bags at the accommodation. Your guide will walk you through the plan for the week. Then, we head to an orientation tour of the 'City of Canals'. Take in the Cathedral of Saint Mark, the Ducal Palace, and Rialto Bridge. The evening is all yours, roam and explore the winding streets of this beautiful city. Enjoy dinner with traditional delicacies.

Day Two - Sunday: Venice Free Time

Day two is all yours to see the stunning city of Venice! Feel free to ask your guide for suggestions or activities to do in the city. There is an optional half-day tour of the islands of Burano and Murano. This suits people who want to learn the art and craft of lace and glass making and want to hop on a gondola and have the gondolier serenade you under the Venetian stars.

Day Three - Monday: Rome

Leave the accommodation in Venice at 10 am and spend the last morning hours to explore what's left in the city. From here, join us on a fast speed train to Rome where you will arrive in the early afternoon. After checking in, you will have some time to relax before meeting up with your guide at 5 pm for a walk through the city. Enjoy the sunset over the Roman Forum and Colosseum before we end the day with a traditional Italian dinner at an authentic restaurant.

Day Four - Tuesday: Rome & Vatican City

Meet us in the morning as we walk through Rome. Discover stunning attractions such as Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Spanish Steps and lots more. We will then head to Vatican City, where you will have free time to explore the area. Then we offer an optional guided tour of the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel (tickets to this tour are included with the trip). You then have a free evening in Rome!

Day Five - Wednesday: Florence

Today, you will have some free time in the morning before we leave for Florence. After check-in, your tour leader will take you for a guided walk of the city. You will get to see sights such as the beautiful gothic Cathedral, Palazzo Vecchio and the Ponte Vecchio, to name a few. The walking tour will end on one of the busiest streets of Florence, renowned for its bars and nightlife. Here, you will have a traditional aperitivo at a bar favoured by locals, which is a meal consisting of cocktails and an all-you-can-eat-buffet!

Day Six - Thursday: Pisa & Cinque Terre

Meet your tour leader and take the train to Pisa at 7 am. Once you arrive, you will have some free time to see the Square of Miracles and see the impressive Cathedral, Baptistery, Campo Santo, and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. From here we take a train to La Spezia and arrive at the Cinque Terre, where you can see the villages of the Liguria Region. This area is famous for its naturally beautiful, scenic trails and sandy beaches. You will be taken through villages of Riomaggiore, Manarola, and Vernazza. The day will end with sunbathing on the beach or taking a dive in the warm waters of Vernazza. We will return to Florence at 8 pm.

Day Seven - Friday: Chianti Region

Today we head to the winery region. We begin at a Wine Tasting School, where you will sample four different types of wine. You will also get to taste truffle olive oil and a 30-year old balsamic vinegar. Refine your palette and see how the best local produce is made! We then head to a local winery, where you sample three types of wines: DOCG Vernaccia white, a Rosé, and a Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG.We end this day by heading to San Gimignano. Your guide will hand you maps and tips on where to go. This is also the home of an award-winning gelateria, so don't forget to have a taste before we head back!

We promote a youth market 18-39 years old. What does this mean? Does it mean that you have just had your 40th birthday so you won't be welcome if you are a more seasoned traveler? That we are going to card you at the door? No way!

It means that we have a general audience of college students, backpackers, solo travelers, etc... that often fall into this category. The tours are more fast-paced, budget-minded and include activities for travelers to meet and connect with other passengers of the same age from all parts of the world who share the same interests, lifestyles, and travel styles.

We are not strict with the age limit and people older than 39 are always welcome to join our tours as long as you are young in heart, have no walking disabilities and are happy to be with younger people.

Our brand is designed around this unique experience geared towards younger travelers, so only passengers that fit this demographic travel with us.

Don’t panic! The first step is to speak to your bank. All purchases made on our website will appear as purchases being made in Switzerland as our website booking provider is a Swiss-based company, so be sure your bank is aware you will be making Swiss purchases to avoid having your payment flagged as possible fraudulent activity. If you cannot resolve the problem with your bank, you should email info@italyonabudgettours.com immediately so we can proceed with a manual booking.

Let us start by saying that If you want to pay for one of your products but the Credit Card is in a different currency than the currency in which we sell our tours, then you have 2 options. This can be selected on the screen where you enter your credit card details by selecting "view currency conversion options":

Option A

TrekkSoft does the currency conversion to accept the customer's currency, exchanging that into the currency in which we operate our tours.  This is called dynamic currency conversion since we display the actual USD price  (Or whatever currency your card is in) to you at the time of booking and this is the amount which is debited from your card without any further conversions or charges.

Option B

The card issuer ( your bank) does this currency conversion and applies a commission and processing fee. So this is when a tour is in EUR for example, and you are charged in EUR even though your credit card account is in USD. So your bank gives you an exchange rate which you will only see on your monthly statement.

In either case, as we are not a bank, the conversion is not the same as you would see on the likes of xe.com since these are the wholesale currency values, these rates are not available to anyone in reality.

The retail rates are always higher since there are differences in buying selling rates, and there are commissions and transaction fees when exchanging currencies. Whatever currency you pay, we will receive the amount as displayed in EUR

This could either mean that the tour is sold out or that it is no longer possible to book the date online due to the cut off time. If you are interested in a specific departure date e-mail info@italyonabudgettours.com and we will be happy to let you know if we still have available spots for that tour.

The hostels we collaborate with are very safe in fact in each room you can find a personal locker where you can store your valuable objects and bags. You just need to bring your own lock or sometimes you can hire it directly at the reception.
