We are excited to have the exclusive rights as the only tour operator to take groups to the Figure Eight Pools in the Worlds 2nd oldest National Park – the Royal National Park, found just 37 Km (23 miles) and only 45 minutes south of Sydney. It’s a day of fun and adventure that includes hiking, sightseeing, swimming, spotting wildlife, beautiful beaches led by our awesome guides!

Our Figure 8 Pools Coastal Adventure Tour takes you out to explore this spectacular area found just 45 minutes South of Sydney and 37 Km (23 miles) and only 45 minutes in the Worlds 2nd oldest National Park. It is a must-do for all young travellers, backpackers and students looking for a day of fun and adventure just out of Sydney.

Visit the Audley picnic area and see where the Kangaroo Creek joins the Hacking River. Head out on a 6km (3.7 mi) return hike in the Worlds 2nd oldest National Park along changing terrain with spectacular scenery that includes some steep sections and requires a medium to high level of fitness.

Walk through Burning Palms Beach and see the heritage listed Coastal Shacks before continuing along the coast and across the rocks to reach the Figure 8 Pools. Spend some time to relax and enjoy the area while taking in the amazing views of the surroundings before making the hike back up the mountain.

Visit Garie beach, a beautiful little beach in the Royal National Park that is surrounded by coastal headlands. Here you can enjoy a picnic lunch then it’s off to the next adventure where you can explore, swimand relax at one of the local lagoons and beaches.

Jump back in the bus to chill as we pump some good tunes and make our way out of the Royal National Park back to Sydney for our 1 drop off at Central YHA Hostel.

Everyone gets to enjoy a FREE drink at the end of the day at one of the local backpacker bars back in Sydney!

*Depending on tide times the activities can be reversed in the day in order to reach the Figure Eight Pools at low tide.

 

What to bring:

No, we do not charge any extra fees or fuel surcharges. The listed price is the price you pay which includes National Park Fees and all tax.

There are optional activities which are listed in the Blue Mountains Adventure Tour that are paid on the day if you decide to choose any.

We understand that you may not have a printer handy when you’re traveling so it is not necessary to have a printed copy of your voucher. However, we require that you do have proof of your reservation accessible on your phone.

Minimum 1 litre or 33 oz bottle of water, snacks, swimmers, towel, camera and a sense of fun and adventure!

This depends on empty seats as available space is very limited and we do not tow a trailer, please call Barefoot Downunder to discuss.

All bags that are left in the bus are at the customers discretion and we take no responsibility for break ins and stolen bags.

Wearing a hat is recommended.

Sturdy pair of broken-in trail shoes, boots, or sneakers are required as we are bushwalking and hiking in the Royal National Park.

During the cooler months, dress in layers and wear clothing that will wick away perspiration and keep you dry and comfortable. Summer clothes are fine in the hotter months, bring a swimsuit as the tour includes swimming in the rock pools and at various beaches.

Grade 4 – Steeper, rougher terrain & may have off-track sections (no more than one quarter of the walk) or a longer distance track walk. Opportunity to explore and discover relatively undisturbed natural environments mostly along defined and distinct tracks. Tracks can be steep. There may be short sections of rock scrambling involved.

The tour returns around 5pm, however this time may vary due to traffic or other trip factors.

9.5 hours Full day tour that starts after our last pick up location in the morning at 7:30am

We do hike in the rain, snow, wind and any other weather conditions that nature decides to throw at us. After all, we’re going on adventures! If the weather is unsafe for any reason, the trip will be changed or postponed. You will be notified the week of your trip if there are changes due to weather.

Terms & Conditions:

Must be at pick-up location 10 minutes prior to pick-up time.

Barefoot Dowunder reserves the right to change an itinerary and tour at any time without notice due to weather, safety and at company's discretion.

Barefoot Downunder reserves the right to cancel a tour if the minimum number of persons required is not met (6 persons on Blue Mtns, 5 persons Figure 8 Pools) and if such occurs a full refund will be given or alternate date made.

At least a medium fitness level is required, if you are late throughout the day and miss the departure time you will need to make your way back to Sydney at your own expense.

Minimum age is 15 years and up. Other operator prices may change and vary.


Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations 72 hrs prior incur 100% booking fee, no refunds for late arrivals and missed pickup or no-shows.

A $10 admin fee applies for any cancellations made after 72 hours for each booking or for any booking changes thereafter.
