How many people will be onboard?
Norseman takes a maximum of 20 on a shared charter. Being a 60-foot boat, this means there is plenty of room for everyone to fish.
What fish are we likely to catch on Norseman?
It really depends on the time of year, but because the Operator has a super experienced skipper (with a massive stash of secret honey holes) - you can expect to catch Large Mouth Nannygai, Coral Trout, Long Nose Emperor, Cobia, Spanish Mackerel, Small mouth Nannygai, Trevally and Cod. You'll target reef-dwelling table fish on shared charters.
Can I take my fish home with me?
Of course, you can! The Norseman crew will gut and bag your fish for you to take home. They are not permitted to fillet fish on board the boat, though.
Am I guaranteed to catch a fish with Norseman?
There are no guarantees with fishing – otherwise, it would be called CATCHING! However, the incredible crew, years of local experience and state-of-the-art fish-finding equipment will ensure you have the best possible chance of catching a great fish!
Will I get seasick?
Even though Norseman is a big heavy boat, sometimes, when the wind is stronger, people can suffer from seasickness. So it's recommended that if you are concerned about seasickness, visit a chemist and get some seasickness tablets such as Kwells or Travalcalm.
It's best for people who suffer from seasickness to take medication the night before travel and then more first thing in the morning before the boat departs. Prevention is better than the cure for seasickness!
What are fin fish closures?
Fin fish closures are designed to protect coral reef fin fish such as Coral Trout. During their spawn period, Coral Trout aggregate in breeding schools. Closed seasons prevent anglers from fishing at certain times of the year to protect fin fish species at vulnerable times in their life cycle, such as during spawning seasons. Fishing is banned during these times. Fin fish closures occur:
