What to Expect
Designed specifically for wine lovers, this semi-private tour with a maximum of just six guests takes you behind the scenes for a 'grape to glass' VIP experience at some of the region’s best boutique wineries. Get away from the crowds to taste award-winning wines, get to know the locals and enjoy an indulgent day of fine wine and gourmet food.
Enjoy a behind-the-scenes tour into a winery and vineyard to get an insight into wine production and the unique terroir of this region, and meet the winemakers. This experience is unique to each tour depending on what stage in the vintage it is and what is happening in the winery on the day. You may get to see picking, crushing, blending or even experience a barrel tasting - you never know what will be in store for you!
Visit at least four local boutique wineries for tastings that showcase a range of different wines and styles, including rare and award-winning wines that the region does best. The guaranteed small group sizes mean that you get access to wineries that won't accommodate the big tour buses so you get away from the crowds and off the regular beaten tourist path.
Be treated to an indulgent winery restaurant lunch overlooking the vineyards with your choice of two courses from their seasonal menu of local produce - think twice-cooked duck, Shark Bay whiting, cured ocean trout and pork cutlet. For those with a sweet tooth, the chocolate tart or fresh honeycomb with goat's curd for dessert may be your choice! Please note, most dietary requirements can be catered for with notice so please include these in your booking notes. Drinks with lunch are optional and at your own expense on the day.
All of the wineries visited are family-owned, and hand-picked for their quality winemaking skills, as well as their historical significance to the region. Your unforgettable day is set at a relaxed pace so that you have plenty of time for questions and discussion at the wineries and to get to know your fellow wine lovers. This is the ultimate wine tour for people that really want to experience the Swan Valley's best hidden gems!
Frequently Asked Questions
We want you to dress comfortably so that you can enjoy your tour, and recommend that a ‘smart casual’ dress standard is the safest choice.
Wearing thongs (flip-flops) is not recommended as some venues do have dress codes in place that don’t allow these.
We recommend:
- Appropriate ID for proof of age – an Australian Driver’s License or Passport
- Hat and sunglasses
- Light jumper/cardigan in Spring/Autumn
- Weather proof jacket in Winter
- A love of good food and local produce
- Cash or credit card if you wish to purchase anything to take away
- Your camera!
We provide SPF50+ sunscreen and some umbrellas for inclement weather.
Unless specified, venues do not allow you to bring your own food or beverages (other than water) onto their premises.
Please note that any valuables that you bring with you are your responsibility.
Our wine-based tours can cater to most dietary needs if these are provided to us before the tour. We can't guarantee that we can accommodate any requests made on the day.
Our food-based tours may not be able to cater to your exact dietary needs, as these tours revolve around specific dishes, but if you have an allergy or intolerance we can certainly guide you to the foods that are suitable for you to eat.
IMPORTANT: If you have an allergy or medical condition (even if it's not food-related) please add it to the booking notes. It's important that we know these things in case something happens - for example, if you have an allergy to bees, are diabetic, or are anaphylactic to nuts or seafood - among many other possibilities.
If it is simply a dietary ‘request’ rather than a strict requirement (ie you dislike seafood but are not allergic to it) then please let us know this by adding a comment in the ‘Booking Notes’ section of the booking form and we will do our best to cater to your request.
Yes - tours go ahead rain, hail or shine! Our vehicles are air-conditioned, as are most indoor venues in Perth, we provide some umbrellas for rain or sun, plus SPF50+ sunscreen in case you need it.
You are welcome to bring an umbrella or jacket if needed, and please dress light if the weather is looking warm.
These tours are not 'cookie-cutter' and no two days are the same! The wineries we visit can change from day to day to ensure guests get the best possible experience on each tour, including a genuine and authentic local experience. Sometimes this means that you may get access to experiences that are not available to the general public.
Sometimes we may need to switch things up, and while each tour may be slightly different, you will always get inclusions that are the equivalent (or better!).
If you like to continually graze throughout the tour, upgrade your last wine tasting of the day to include a pairing of five canapes - each created to enhance the different varietal characteristics in the wines. This option can be selected when booking.
Please note: A minimum of two people in the tour must select this option for it to proceed (if the minimum number is not met you will be refunded this cost). The dishes are seasonal and are a set pairing, unfortunately, dietary requirements can't be catered for.
