Our incredible day trip starts nice and early, with pick up from Melbourne City centre at 8:30am. Enjoy a unique drive-through tour of the city, including the 2006 Commonwealth Games Athlete’s Village, Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre and along the Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit! Visit the beautiful 19th century Flemington Racecourse, home of the Melbourne Cup, the horse race that stops the nation, and uncover the fascinating history of this amazing sport.
Enjoy a special behind-the-scenes tour at the amazing Rod Laver Arena, where the world tennis champions battle it out in the January heat to become the winner of the Australian Open. Check out the changing rooms, wander onto the courts and visit the Walk of Fame, the superboxes and the media centre on this unmissable VIP tour. Visit the Etihad Stadium in the Docklands Precinct for a delicious cafe style lunch and round off our incredible day with another behind-the-scenes tour of Australia’s biggest stadium, the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Built in 1853, the MCG is an Australian sports fan’s mecca, this iconic stadium has hosted the summer Olympics, the Paralympics, the Commonwealth Games and two Cricket World Cups! It’s also the spiritual home of Aussie Rules football and the Australian national cricket team. Our amazing tour takes in all the stadium highlights, including the stands, the coaches’ box, the players’ changing rooms (football & cricket), the cricket viewing room, Long Room, the Ponsford Stand and even a walk on the hallowed turf of the arena. There truly is no better way to round off our action-packed sports tour than by standing in the footsteps of generations of sporting stars and imagining the crowd erupting into cheers as we walk onto the pitch.
