WHAT TO EXPECT
Woohoo! Welcome to Tassie's West Coast. It's a beautiful, wild world here, and it's full of wilderness, convict heritage, stunning national parks and historic mining towns. Are you ready to explore?
Itinerary:
Day 1: Mount Field, Russell Falls & Lake St Clair
Pickups from Hobart accommodation available.
Your tour begins with the pristine world heritage wilderness of Mount Field National Park. See beautiful Russell Falls and walk among some of the tallest trees on earth! As you go, look out for the cute Tasmanian Pademelons hopping around, they’re unique to Tasmania.
Later stop for lunch with a view at Australia’s deepest lake, Lake St Clair. If you’re lucky you might even see a platypus.
Then, head to Donaghy’s Hill for more incredible views that stretch in all directions. See the quartzite peak of Frenchmans Cap, and iconic Franklin River winding its way through the valley below.
Overnight: Jump Holiday House, Tullah (dorms and private rooms with shared bathrooms) or Tullah Lakeside Lodge (Private rooms with ensuite bathrooms).
Day 2: Montezuma Falls, Strahan & Henty Dunes
Your day starts with a walk through lush rainforest along the path of an old railway. Your destination? Montezuma Falls - Tasmania’s highest waterfall.
For lunch, stop at the beautiful fishing town of Strahan. Immerse yourself in the beauty and history of what was one of the most remote outposts of the British Empire.
Then, it's just a short drive to Henty Dunes. Climb to the top for a wonderful view across the Southern Ocean and an awesome photo experience!
Overnight: Jump Holiday House, Tullah (dorms and private rooms with shared bathrooms) or Tullah Lakeside Lodge (Private rooms with ensuite bathrooms).
Day 3: Cradle Mountain, Sheffield & Cataract Gorge
This morning it’s all about Cradle Mountain! With 4 hours here, you'll have the chance to choose from a range of hikes and activities. No matter what, this is an adventure you'll never forget.
You'll have worked up an appetite - so stop for lunch in Sheffield - the town of murals. Artists from across the world have contributed artwork to this cute little town - look for the alpaca man! There are some great photos to be snapped here.
This afternoon, taste the delights of 41 Degrees Salmon.
At 5:30pm, you'll arrive in Launceston. Head to Cataract Gorge, a stunning natural attraction in the heart of the city that's worth a look!
