We love that this tour makes visiting Cradle Mountain possible from Hobart! They're the only operators with this option, and it's a great one.
Cradle Mountain is not to be missed while visiting Tasmania! Renowned for its beauty, this natural giant offers an oasis of bushwalks, stunning scenery and of course, great views.
If you're short on time and looking to visit this towering landmark, then this is the tour for you. Taking you there and back from Hobart in just one day, this trip really packs in the action.
Itinerary:
Starting at 6.00 am, you'll catch the gorgeous first light as you travel north from Hobart. Sit back and be wowed by the scenery around you.
It's a 4-hour drive to the mountain, but there'll be a break halfway through for you to stretch your legs, grab a coffee and something to eat (at own cost).
Once you arrive at Cradle Mountain, it's off to the Information Centre where you will stock up on fluids.
Then, it's time to dive in and start exploring! Make your way to the shores of Dove Lake where you'll enjoy 2 hours of adventure. You can choose to wander around the Dove Lake circuit or take your pick of one of the many other large or small walks.
Once you've completed your Dove Lake exploration and you’ve captured that prized Instagram photo, it’s time to move on to the Enchanted Forest and King Billy Pine walks. These two ancient walks will take your breath away! Wander through the forest and get ready to fall in love with your surroundings as you breathe in the crisp air from under the canopy of 4000 year old trees. Native wildlife is also abundant in this area, so keep your eyes peeled... you might just see the elusive Tasmanian Devil as well as wombats, Spotted Quolls, wallabies and more!
Later, after 4.5 hours of exploring it's time to make the mission back to Hobart.
This tour departs Hobart at 6.00 am and returns by 8.00 pm.
