It takes roughly 4 hours to drive the entirety of the Great Ocean Road with no breaks. However, we wouldn't recommend completing such a stunning trip so quickly! You'll want to take your time exploring all the beautiful lookouts and charming coastal towns along the way. After all, these wonderful stops are what makes this road trip so iconic.

We'd suggest taking at least three days to complete your drive along the Great Ocean Road. This will give you enough time to visit all the attractions along the way, including the famous Twelve Apostles, the stunning Loch Ard Gorge, the seaside town of Lorne, and more.

The Great Ocean Road starts Southwest of Melbourne in the seaside town of Torquay and ends in Allansford in the Western District of Victoria. All up, this gorgeous stretch of road is roughly 240 km long.

There are a few different towns and camping spots dotted along the Great Ocean Road where you can stop off for the night. Popular overnight stops include Jamieson Creek Campground, Kennett River Holiday Park, Aire Crossing Campground, and the towns of Lorne, Apollo Bay, and Port Campbell.
