This Fitzroy Island sea kayaking and snorkel tour is one you'll never forget. You'll discover the best of the beautiful island and enjoy sea kayaking, snorkelling and swimming in pristine surrounds. Fitzroy Island and the surrounding reefs are an oasis of sea life and corals just waiting to be discovered. You'll dive in and experience all this with help from professional guides - no prior paddling or snorkelling experience is necessary!
Check-in time at the Reef Fleet Terminal starts at 8.00 am. Meet at the Reef Fleet Terminal at 8.15 am and check in at the Fitzroy Ferries desk for your Ferry transfer which will take you to Fitzroy Island.
Boarding closes at 8.50 am. You will find the Reef Fleet Terminal on the waterfront between the Pier Marketplace and Hilton Hotel.
At 9.00 am, the ferry will depart and your journey to Fitzroy Island begins!
It's just a short ride, and you'll arrive at the island at 9.45 am. There, change into your kayak gear and soak in the ocean scenery before meeting your experienced guide at the Beach Hire Hut. Listen to a safety briefing and get familiar with the equipment.
Throughout the day, your guide will have you paddling to stunning beaches and amazing bays around Fitzroy Island. Keep your eyes open and see if you can spot all of the wonderful marine life. There'll even be the chance to snorkel at some secluded locations! The sea kayaks mean easy access to exclusive snorkelling spots on the Great Barrier Reef, most of which are which are not easily reached by large commercial vessels.
Visit unspoiled locations such as Little Fitzroy Island, Shark Fin Bay and other hidden wonders.
You'll return to the beach hut at around 1.30 pm, where you can collect your lunch. Enjoy a picnic with a choice of hot, cold, vegetarian, halal, celiac, gluten and pork free options.
After 2.00 pm, you can enjoy a relaxing afternoon on the island with some free time. Sit back and enjoy the sun, use the ocean trampoline, try out the paddle skis or use your snorkel gear to explore more marine life. Just remember to return your snorkel gear to the beach hut by 3.30 pm.
You'll leave the island at 4.30 pm and return to Cairns by ferry. You'll reach Cairns at approximately 5.15 pm.
