As well as a sense of adventure and a happy heart, don’t forget your walking shoes and a hoodie or a warm jacket, as it can get cold up in the mountains. Also a small day pack with camera, insect repellent, hat, swimmers, sunblock, towel, and money for drinks and snacks.

First day: 

Babinda Boulders (spooky aboriginal stories), Josephine Falls (natural rock slide), Crawfords Lookout (big high lookout), Millaa Millaa Falls (world famous hair flick waterfall), Malanda Pub (biggest timber pub in Oz), Curtain Fig Tree (biggest tree you’ll ever see), Platypus viewing, Lake Eacham (swim in a volcanic crater lake). You may also get the opportunity to spot tree kangaroos and other native wildlife.

Second day: 

Scenic Coastal Drive (Cairns to Port Douglas), Mossman Gorge (indigenous experience), Daintree River (ferry crossing), Rainforest Boardwalk (guided tour), Cape Tribulation (where rainforest meets reef), Wildlife River Cruise (crocodiles and more), Port Douglas (scope it out).
