You can join the tour in Alice Springs or at Ayers Rock Airport/Yulara. The standard return journey finishes in Alice Springs at approximately 6:00–6:30 pm on Day 3. If you'd prefer to finish in Yulara, a shuttle transfer from Kings Canyon can be arranged, arriving at approximately 4:30–5:00 pm. This must be requested when booking and is subject to availability. The nearest airport specifically mentioned for the Yulara pickup is Ayers Rock Airport (AYQ).

If you book a Twin Share Safari Tent on your own, the tour operator will try to pair you with another solo traveller, preferably of the same gender. However, this cannot be guaranteed. Children must always be accompanied by an adult.

This adventure is best suited to travellers aged 8 and over who enjoy camping, walking and exploring the Outback. You'll need a moderate to high level of fitness, as the walks include steep, rocky sections, often in direct sunlight and high humidity. You'll also be expected to help with meal preparation, cleaning up and loading and unloading the vehicle.

Travel insurance is highly recommended for this adventure. You'll be exploring remote areas of the Northern Territory where access to medical professionals may be limited.

Bring weather-appropriate clothing, a compact daypack, a reusable water container (3 litres recommended), sunscreen, sunglasses, a wide-brimmed hat, insect repellent, swimwear, a towel, hand sanitiser and a personal first aid kit. You'll also need any prescription medication, a power bank, money for personal expenses and a camera. A fly or mosquito net is recommended during warmer months. A sleeping bag is required for the Bush Swag option.

You'll need to bring a small, soft overnight bag and hand luggage, as storage space on the vehicle is limited. Large suitcases and oversized luggage should be left at your hotel. A maximum of 23 kg is permitted for travellers finishing in a different location from where they started.

You'll spend two nights at permanent Outback campsites, with a choice between a Basic Single Bush Swag or a Twin Share Safari Tent. Bush Swags provide a canvas-covered bed roll with a camp mattress, while safari tents have twin single beds with mattresses, fitted sheets and top sheets. Communal showers and toilets are available at the campsites. Electricity is limited or unavailable in some areas, so bringing a power bank is recommended.

This tour involves physically demanding walks over steep, rocky terrain and requires good balance and agility. It is not suitable for travellers who require a mobility aid, wheelchair, walker or stroller. The guide may adjust walking activities depending on weather conditions and guest fitness levels.

The campsites generally have limited or no electricity, and the permanent safari tents are unpowered. Standard CPAP machines may therefore not be suitable. Lightweight, battery-operated devices are recommended if you need a CPAP machine while travelling.
