WHAT TO EXPECT
Hit all the must-see spots in the Red Centre with this epic camping tour! See Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon and explore Alice Springs.
Day 1 & 2: Greyhound bus from Adelaide to Alice Springs
You'll depart from Adelaide Bus Station (Franklin Street Adelaide) at 6:00 pm. Drive overnight and arrive in Alice Springs the next day at 1:30 pm. The Greyhound Bus Station in Alice Springs is located directly in front of The Rock Tour Office.
Once you arrive, stretch your legs and enjoy the afternoon checking out the local attractions. Wander down the Todd Mall, check out local art galleries and enjoy exploring this interesting place.
Tonight you're staying at the Alice Springs YHA (6 share dorm) which is located a 2-minute walk from the Alice Springs Greyhound Station.
Day 3: Kings Canyon (lunch, dinner)
You'll be picked up from the Alice Springs YHA at 5:30 am, ready for a day of adventure. Your first destination is Kings Canyon. Enjoy a 3-hour hike through the sandstone domes of the Lost City, visit the Amphitheatre, North & South Walls and the Garden of Eden.
Later, head to your next stop, Curtin Springs. Set up a bush camp for the night and help your guide prepare a healthy camp-oven dinner. Relax around the fire then curl up in your cosy swag under a million stars.
Day 4: Kata Tjuta & Uluru Sunset (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Today, feel the spiritual significance of the Valley of the Winds at Kata Tjuta. Your guide will show you some bush tucker along the hike before heading to the Aboriginal Cultural Centre where youcan listen to tales from the Dreamtime.
You'll then embark on a guided Mala Walk, before spending the evening enjoying dinner at the spectacular sunset over Uluru. Witness the awesome sight of Uluru changing colour as evening falls.
Tonight you'll be sleeping at the Ayers Rock Campground with toilets and showers.
Day 5: Uluru Sunrise (breakfast, lunch)
Take in a memorable Uluru sunrise over the World’s Largest Rock.
You'll then have time to complete the Uluru Base Walk and take in Kantju Gorge, Mutijulu Waterhole, and Aboriginal Cave Paintings.
You'll arrive back in Alice Springs at approximately 5:00 pm. Back to civilization, get cleaned up and meet your guide for dinner and a couple of beers at The Rock Bar at 7:00 pm (at your own expense).
