Frequently Asked Questions about 15 Day Elephants and Islands 18 to 35s Semi-Guided Small Group Tour

How much money should I budget for dining out?

Thailand can be cheap. You can still have a plate of food for a street vendor for under $3 AUD however there are always more expensive options. From a sit down Thai restaurant, expect to pay $10-$15 AUD - not including alcohol.

Travelling is a huge contributor to global emissions and our current climate crisis. We need to protect our planet, the destinations we love to visit and combat climate change. It is important we all work towards lowering our carbon footprint home and abroad. However, the reality is when we travel we cannot avoid the ‘black stuff’. For what we cannot reduce we can offset. This is carbon neutral travel. Through Gold Standard we measure our trips footprint, reduce where possible and offset the balance.

Please be aware that dress standards in Asia differ from those in western countries.

If you’re planning on visiting religious sites, we recommend that men wear long trousers, and women wear a long skirt, or carry a sarong.

  • A mixture of lightweight clothing with some warm layers (it can get chilly in public transport or on the sleeper trains and buses)
  • Wind and waterproof jacket (depending on the season but it’s always advisable to carry one)
  • Comfortable shoes and if the program includes a trekking activity we recommend hiking shoes with ankle support. Sandals with straps for water activities and the beach
  • Daypack
  • Swimming suit, beach towel, sun hat, sun cream, sunglasses
  • Mosquito repellent, toiletries, personal medication, Epi-pens, antihistamines etc
  • Travel adaptor (Thailand operates on a 230V supply voltage and uses plug types A, B and C)

We recommend budgeting $20-$40 AUD a day - not including alcohol.

We suggest booking at least 90 days in advance.

Airport transfers in Thailand are super easy, especially in Bangkok. There are meter cabs everyone, you can book online via an app called Grab (Thai Uber) or your hotel reception can organise. It's so simple!

Guides are provided on the arrival day and local guides on activity days, otherwise its independent travel but fully supported. Local support is available 24/7.

This tour runs on the first and third Saturday of the month.
