- 6 hour historical tour of Bangkok
- A lovely local guide to show you around, every step of the way!
This tour is perfect for Bangkok’s first-timers. You will be visiting many historical landmarks of Bangkok along the way! Admire the charming architecture, and learn a bunch of Thai history along the way. Your tour guide, Woranat Sreeyotee, will show you all of the historical sites and teach you about the culture along the way during this 6 hour comprehensive tour of Bangkok.
During this tour you’ll get to see the famous temple of Wat Saket. Wat Saket Ratcha Wora Maha Wihan (try saying that three times fast!) is a Buddhist temple in the Pom Prap Sattru Phai district of Bangkok, Thailand. The temple dates back to the Ayutthaya era, when it was known as Wat Sakae. The temple grounds feature mature trees and typical Buddhist structures such as the main chapel, ordination hall and library.
You’ll also get to explore the temple of Wat Pho. Wat Pho is a Buddhist temple complex in the Phra Nakhon District on Rattanakosin Island, directly south of the Grand Palace. The compound at Wat Pho is home to the city's largest reclining Buddha, the largest collection of Buddha images in Thailand and the country's earliest centre for public education. The temple compound is also the national headquarters for the teaching and preservation of traditional Thai medicine, including Thai massage, a mandate legislated by Rama III when the tradition was in danger of extinction.
End the day with a boat tour along the beautiful Chao Phraya river! This river is also known as the ‘Venice of the East’ and like all urban rivers, the history of the Chao Phraya is intertwined with the city it flows through. The original site was chosen by early settlers because of its fertility and abundant fish.
