What to Expect

This is the mother of all Thailand tours! Cover absolutely everything there is to see and do in this amazing country on this epic 21 day adventure!

Our journey will take you from bustling Bangkok up north to lovely Kanchanaburi, Ayutthaya, Chiang Mai and Pai. Explore the natural beauty of the region, jump in waterfalls, trek through the jungle and see breathtaking ancient temples. From here, head to the beautiful islands in the south. It’s time to bring out the beach towel, put on some sunscreen and enjoy life. Snorkel in crystal-clear waters, work on your tan, sip on cocktails and visit some gorgeous hidden gems in the area. If this isn’t epic, we don’t know what is!

Where we visit

Day 1: Thailand

Welcome to Thailand! At the airport, you’ll be met by your awesome tour guide who will be very excited to finally meet you. From here, you’ll go straight to your hotel where you can chillax for the afternoon. The first day of the tour is all about getting to know your new travel mates, so feel free to explore the city or hang out at the hotel. In the evening, head to one of the best restaurants for a delicious welcome dinner. To kick off your 21 Day adventure, head to the famous Khao San road for some nice cold beers.

Day 2: Kanchanaburi, Kayaking on the River Kwai

Before you head off to the river, it's time to do some shopping and not at just any regular market...but a floating one! Once done with browsing the market by long-tail boat, it’s off to Kanchanaburi! You'll then get on another boat and cruise down the River Kwai before it hits sunset o’clock. What a better place to watch the sunset than the bridge over River Kwai? Get those poses ready for all the 10/10 shots you’re going to get because you won’t want to miss this photo op!

Day 3: Erewan Waterfalls

Spend today splashing around in what might just be Thailand’s most beautiful waterfall. Located about an hour outside of the city, the Erewan Waterfalls have seven different levels. Throw on your swimsuit and jump in - it’s gloriously refreshing! Hike from level to level, so you’ll get the chance to dive into the crystal-clear water as much as you’d like. When you’re done exploring, jump back on the minivan and head into town. Here, you’ll have a few hours to chillax by the pool before meeting up for dinner. Then end the night with a few drinks in a couple of classic backpacker bars.

Day 4: Ayutthaya, Ancient Ruins and History

After a nice and slow morning, hit the road again and travel towards the ancient city of Ayutthaya. This used to Thailand’s capital before Bangkok, and it’s a place that’s full of fascinating history and rich culture. Learn a bit more about this part of Thailand’s past as you ride around the ruins on a leisurely bike tour. Then grab a yummy lunch before jumping on the night train to your next awesome destination Chiang Mai. And don’t worry - the train is more comfortable than some hostels! You’ll get your very own full-size bed with covers, pillows, and everything you need to have good night’s sleep. Kick back and enjoy this fun experience!

Day 5: Chiang Mai - Temples and Culture

The next morning, wake up in beautiful Chiang Mai. You’ll be exploring the area over the next couple of days, so take it easy today. After check-in, you’ll get the afternoon off to check out the city or maybe visit the oldest temple in Chiang Mai which is just across the street. Your guesthouse is located between the old and the new part of the city, so sightseeing will be nice and easy.

Day 6 and Day 7: Jungle Trekking and Hill Tribe Homestay

It’s time for a jungle adventure! For the next two days, you’ll be busy trekking through the jungle which is a must-do on any trip to Northern Thailand. Spend one night in a hill tribe village home stay where you’ll get to see how the traditional tribes in the area live. On top of this unforgettable cultural experience, you’ll also see some stunning natural beauty. On the trek, we’ll see all kinds of trees and wildlife, do some fun bamboo rafting and jump into a refreshing waterfall or two. You don’t need a high level of fitness for the trek.

Day 8: Zip Line Through the Jungle

You may have left the jungle, but Chiang Mai has many more adventures waiting for you. In fact, it’s known as the adventure capital of Thailand! Today, try the famous zip line which flies through the canopy up to 50 meters above the ground. You’ll be going from platform to platform, crossing rope bridges and trying a few abseils here and there. Oh yeah, you’ll be getting a nice adrenaline kick out of this one!

Day 9: Elephant Sanctuary Visit

Today you'll visit Chiang Mai’s famous elephant sanctuary. Here, get a short briefing before meeting the majestic animals. Many of them have had a bad time in the tourism or logging industry, but here at the sanctuary, they’re well looked after. The elephants are free to roam as they please and they’re never forced to do anything unnatural to entertain the tourists. You’ll get to feed them some yummy sugar cane and bananas before walking them down to the river. While the elephants get their bath, you can swim around in the river. You won’t forget this epic experience anytime soon!

In the afternoon, jump on a minibus to a little backpacker paradise called Pai. It’s about 3 hours from Chiang Mai but it’s a completely different world. Forget everything about the hustle and bustle of big cities - Pai is all about chillaxing. There’s a laid-back vibe, lovely people, good bars, yummy food and plenty of cool things to see.

Day 10: Caves, Canyons and Hot Springs

Today, explore the area around Pai. Kick off the day at Lod Cave which is Thailand’s largest cave. Here, hike through one or both of the main chambers before jumping on a bamboo raft and gliding down the river that runs through the cave (depending on season and accessibility). Next, hit up some hot springs in a natural pool in the middle of the jungle. It’s one of Mother Nature’s little hidden gems, so throw on your swimsuit and get in! The water is heated by geothermal activity and you can even give yourself a homemade beauty treatment with the clay.

Then, head to a nearby waterfall which has two cool features: a natural slide and an awesome view. The last stop of the day is Pai Canyon where you’ll be able to take in some even more stunning views while walking along the ridge. You’ll want your camera for this one! After watching an epic sunset over the jungle, drive back to Pai. To cap off this amazing day, head to a nice restaurant for dinner and maybe hit up some local bars. Grab yourself a drink and mingle with the many like-minded backpackers in town.

Day 11: Time to Chill

Chill day, lets goooo! After a bit of a lie-in, the day is yours to spend as you please. Spend your day lounging by the pool, swimming, playing a few games or reading a good old book! The choice is yours. Once you’ve had our relaxation fill, head to the Chinese village for some tea tasting. How tea-riffic!

Day 12: Back to Chiang Mai and Cooking Course

Back in Chiang Mai, throw on an apron and learn about traditional Thai cooking. Northern Thailand is famous for its delicious food, so today, take a cooking class. You’ll be taught by some of the best chefs in town, so you’re in for a treat! Before cooking, visit the local market with your teachers to pick up fresh and tasty ingredients. Step by step, you’ll then learn how to cook some of the Thai cuisine’s most yummy dishes. And don’t worry - you don’t need to be a professional chef to have fun here! And here’s the best part: you get to eat everything you cook. Perfect!

Day 13: Chiang Mai Canyon

Today, spend the day splashing around in awesome Chiang Mai Canyon. It used to be an excavation site for building material but nowadays it’s a manmade lagoon full of fun. There’s enough stuff to keep you entertained for an entire day: floating chairs, paddle boards, tubes, cliff jumping, you name it. If you’re feeling brave, you can also go for some deep water soloing or perhaps try out the new climbing wall. The onsite restaurant sells delicious lunches, snacks and refreshments, so you won’t need to worry about running out of energy. In the evening, head into Chiang Mai for a delicious dinner.

Day 14: Check out and travel to Bangkok

It’s time to say goodbye to Northern Thailand and head back to bustling Bangkok. After check-out, you’ll have the day off to relax or do some last-minute shopping before catching the overnight train.

Day 15: Cruise Bangkok

Welcome back! On your first day out in Bangkok, explore the city from the water. Jump onboard a traditional longtail boat and glide down the majestic Chao Phraya River on a private cruise. Visit two of the city’s most famous temples; Wat Arun and,of course, Wat Pho where you’ll see the very impressive golden reclining Buddha statue.

You’ll have the afternoon off, so why not do some shopping? Bangkok is famous for being incredibly cheap, so we suggest you grab some bahts and get out there! In the evening, you’ll all meet back up for a delicious dinner and drinks and more awesome group bonding.

Day 16: Midnight Special

On Day 16,  take it nice and easy. Go for a fantastic Thai massage during the day before you jump on an overnight train down south. Your next stop is the breathtaking Khao Sok National Park which is located in the Surat Thani province of Thailand. Forget everything about the hustle and bustle of Bangkok and say hello to calm lakes and natural beauty!

Day 17: Khao Sok Floating Bungalows

Today is a highlight of the trip. Spend the day hanging out at a freshwater lake in Khao Sok National Park surrounded by rainforest and limestone mountains. Jump in a kayak or - if that sounds too energetic - simply float around in a tube with a nice cold beer in your hand. And the fun doesn’t stop there: you’ll then spend the night in some awesome floating bungalows right on the lake. Take a deep breath and enjoy the calm in this truly magical place.

Day 18: Bottle Beach Experience

It's time to hit the beach! Today you’ll have an early start and head off to Koh Phangan. Here, you'll head straight to what might just be paradise on earth: Bottle Beach. It’s one of the most beautiful and secluded beaches you’ll ever visit, so throw on your swimsuit and kick back. To make things even better, stay the night in beach huts overlooking the ocean. The beach is only accessible by boat, so this will be an exclusive experience! Go for a game of volleyball, tan in the sun, or jump in the water to cool down. In the evening, enjoy a yummy dinner and some cocktails on the beach next to a campfire with your own private fire show.

Day 19: Muay Thai Lesson

Spend the first half of the day relaxing some more in our own private paradise. Get up early to see the sunrise, go for a refreshing morning swim, or go trekking to viewpoints around the lake. In the early afternoon, you’ll be picked up and taken to a local gym where you’ll get an awesome Muay Thai lesson. Get ready to kick some butt!

Day 20: Island Boat Trip

You are in for a treat today because you are going on a boat trip around Koh Phangan! Stop off at the best snorkelling spots around the island, dive in and see what exotic sea life you can find. The day is spent with the wind in your hair, snorkel at the ready and the factor 50 suncream on! Snorkel amongst the diverse marinelife and cool off in the aqua blue waters. Whatever you fancy, it's a 10/10 day. After our fun in the sun, head back to our accommodation, have a dip in the pool before heading out for your last night. Enjoy the nightlife in Koh Phangan, because it’s your last night of the tour!

Day 21: Check out

Say goodbye to Northern Thailand and its beaches, but don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened! You’ll be leaving with some amazing memories to cherish forever and also a pretty amazing bunch of friends you’ve just made! If you are continuing your adventure, then your guide will be more than happy to help!
