Yes. There is a section inside the glowworm cavern where all guests must remain silent to enjoy the natural display.
Children are welcome, but the experience may not be ideal for younger guests because part of the tour requires everyone to remain completely silent inside the glowworm cavern.
The cave temperature is generally 8–12°C, so a warm sweater or fleece jacket is recommended. Non-slip shoes or boots and a waterproof jacket are also recommended.
Yes. Significant bending is required at the cave entrance, and there are steps and often wet walkways throughout the experience.
Staff are trained to deal with incidents and will provide instructions to guests in an emergency. A portable defibrillator is also available at Cavern House.
Yes. It is always dark inside the caves, so the glowworms can be viewed on any departure. Depending on daylight hours in New Zealand, the cruise across Lake Te Anau may take place in darkness on some evening departures.
