WHAT TO EXPECT
Get ready for an adrenaline-fuelled fun on your awesome Kaituna River white water rafting experience! This rafting experience has been created to give you the most amazing time out on the Kaituna River with Kaitiaki Adventures, New Zealand's ONLY local rafting crew.
White water raft down one of the most beautiful and heart-racing Grade 5 rivers in the world, as well as the world's highest commercially rafted 7m waterfall (the Tutea Falls). This white water rafting experience is jam-packed with 14 incredible rapids and 3 waterfalls that promise to be a lot of fun for you and your rafting crew.
All of our Kaitiaki Adventures show respect to local Maori people, and while taking part in the activity, you will stop at sacred Maori sights to gain an insight into Maori culture through Karakia (Maori Prayer) and Waiata (Maori Song).
Our guides provide a culturally immersed river experience coupled with local area knowledge and a whole lot of adrenaline; the whole New Zealand rafting package!

How many participants are there?
Minimum unit order: 1 persons.
What is the minimum age for rafting?
Minimum age for rafting is 13 years old.
How much time do we actually spend on water?
You spend up to 1 hour on water. Overall you need to allocate 3 and a half hours including transport, safety briefing, getting ready for rafting, instructions and getting back to your accommodation.
Do I need previous experience?
No not at all. Kaitiaki Adventures will give all the training required and will assist you throughout the trip.
Where do we go? Or can you pick me up?
YES – Courtesy shuttle to and from central Rotorua accommodation and the Rotorua Information Centre.

Are photos available for purchase?
Yes. Adventure photographers take photos of your experience which will be available to view and purchase on completion of your trip.
How warm is the water?
In the summer months from October to March expect 17 to 22 degrees.
In the winter months from April to September expect 11 to 16 degrees.
What do I need to bring and what is provided?
Swimsuit and towel.
All other clothing and equipment will be provided by Kaitiaki Adventures (wetsuit, booties, fleece jumper, splash jacket, personal flotation device (PFD), helmet and gloves for sledging.)
If the cancellation has been made by the operator concerned for any reason, a cancellation fee will not apply.
You can cancel the tour anytime for a 100% refund as long as the cancellations are 48 hours before the booking date and time.
No refund if cancelled within 48 hours before the activity.
Activities can often be rescheduled if sufficient advanced warning is given to us. There is usually no charge for this.
