If the weather isn&#39;t suitable to safely conduct the flight, you will have the option to rebook for the next available time or receive a full refund. If the weather is safe to fly but will be turbulent, you will have the option of flying, rebooking, or receiving a full refund.

The Operator is able to fly approximately 70% of the days in the summer and winter, and 55% of the days in the spring and fall.

This Mt Cook Scenic Flight&nbsp;allow you to enjoy all that Aoraki/Mt Cook scenery has to offer in just a few hours. Only from the air can you truly appreciate this region&#39;s immense scale and spectacular grandeur. All the&nbsp;aircraft have only window seats, so you&#39;ll have an unobstructed view of this fantastic and remote part of New Zealand.

Departing from Queenstown, you&#39;ll climb out past Mt Cardrona and over the Wanaka township into the heart of the Southern Alps and around New Zealand&#39;s tallest mountain, Aoraki/Mt Cook. Tracking along the Southern Alps offers views of the immense mountains that form this formidable barrier: Mt Glenmary, Mt Hooker and Mt Dechen, to name a few.

Views of some of the 3,000 glaciers abound, and out to the east, as you draw closer to Mt Cook, you&#39;ll see the flat plains of The Mckenzie Country.

&nbsp;

The region contains many water channels that feed water from glacial lakes Pukaki, Tekapo and Ohau into the Waitaki River, flowing to the East Coast. The Waitaki has three hydroelectric dams: Benmore, Aviemore and Waitaki; that generate much of the South Island&#39;s renewable energy. Your pilot will also point out vast snow fields, beautiful turquoise glacial lakes, intricate river systems, glacial formed valleys and the formidable Aoraki/Mount Cook, towering above it all.

Once you arrive overhead Mt Cook, your pilot will take you on a grand orbit of the area, where you&#39;ll see some of the major glaciers, including Tasman, Franz&nbsp;Josef and Fox Glaciers. Then, as you turn back toward Queenstown, you&#39;ll have views of the west coast of the South Island and the Tasman Sea.&nbsp;

Along the way, your&nbsp;friendly, experienced pilot will&nbsp;provide an interesting and informative commentary and be happy to answer any questions.

Given alpine flying conditions, True South Flights reserves the right to alter the flight paths, durations, or cancel flights due to weather and safety considerations. If we cannot fly due to adverse weather conditions, we will attempt to reschedule, depending on passenger schedules and flight availability. If we cannot reschedule, passengers will receive a 100% refund. 
 
If passengers choose to cancel a flight, fail to check-in on time, or notify us of changes less than 24 hours prior to their departure, they will incur a 100% cancellation charge. Changes or cancellations made with more than 24 hours warning incur no penalties. 
 
We are required to ensure that the aircraft is operated within its maximum weight limitations and the aircraft&rsquo;s centre of gravity is within limits. We therefore request passenger weights at the time of booking to assist us with operational planning and managing seat availability and to provide a great customer experience. Please ensure you inform us of your weight (including any luggage), especially if any passengers are 100kg or 260lb or over, prior to the date of travel. ANY DEVIATION OF WEIGHT COULD RESULT IN THE FLIGHT BEING RESCHEDULED AND/OR A SURCHARGE APPLIED. Passenger seat allocation is at the pilot&#39;s discretion due to the weight and balance of the aircraft.
