WHAT TO EXPECT
Bay of Islands is one of New Zealand’s top backpacker destinations. It’s located on the North Island and is home to some of the country’s most beautiful nature.
Most people come to Bay of Islands to relax. On the 140 islands, you’ll find hundreds of untouched beaches and cute cafes. There are also plenty of guesthouses and holiday parks for tourists who prefer to explore the area a bit more. During the day, you can choose between laid-back outdoor activities like dolphin watching, big-game fishing and of course parasailing!
If this all sounds a little too relaxed for you, you should try parasailing with Flying Kiwi.
We’re a family-owned company that has been running parasailing tours since 1998. We think the best way to explore Bay of Islands is from above and we’d love to show you why. The view from your seat in the sky is simply fantastic. When you parasail, you get an awesome adrenaline kick that mixes both peace and adventure. It’s a unique experience you won’t forget anytime soon.
What makes our parasailing tours extra amazing is that we have the highest parasail in all of New Zealand. Our parasailing flights reach an extreme height of 1200 ft or 365 meters. In case you’re wondering, that’s high enough to make a grown man freak out.
Our tandem and triple parasailing tours are perfect for those who want to share this awesome experience with someone else (and for those who just think it’s too scary to go on a single flight). Whether you’re going on a romantic date or with a group of friends, we guarantee you’ll have heaps of fun. Our tandem and triple tours are of course also an excellent way to meet new adventurous friends.
From the dock in Paihia, we’ll take you out on our purpose-built parasail boat. You’ll have plenty of time to relax before and after your flight while the rest of the group has their turn. Although the view from the boat is not as awesome as the view from the sky, it’s still pretty fantastic.
We have 27 years of experience in the parasailing industry and are extremely proud to have a 100 % safety record. All our captains, as well as the entire crew, have to complete extensive parasail-specific training. We do this to make sure that you’ll have the best and safest experience possible. As a member of the NZPA (New Zealand Parasailing Industry), we take your safety very seriously. All we want you to worry about is having fun.
So, what are you waiting for? Come fly with us and we’ll give you the most awesome adrenaline kick in town!
No. All take off and landings are done from the back of our world leading purpose built Parasail boat. At your request you may have your legs touched down into the water.
What do we need to wear?
You may wear whatever you are most comfortable in. Take into consideration that it does get cooler on the water versus being on land. Obviously, if it is in your interest to get wet, a bathing suit is recommended.
How long are we out for?
Each ride lasts approximately 10 minutes in the air and the entire duration of the trip lasts up to one hour and 15 minutes. Passengers take turn as others observe. We carry up to 12 passengers on board per trip.
Can we fly together?
We single, tandem and triple flights. It is based on a combined weight depending on the wind conditions at the time. The weight range is between 60 and 250 kilos. The wind is very changeable in the Bay of Islands therefore we cannot guarantee weights until the time of flights.
