Spend an exciting day enjoying amazing natural vistas, giant fish feeding and stunning walks through large fern forests and under some of the world's tallest trees.

We will drive up to kunanyi/Mt Wellington summit, 1272 metres above sea level.

At the summit, we will enjoy the alpine environment and the spectacular views of Southern Tasmania. Then we will pass Bushy Park hop fields. We make our way to the Salmon Ponds, large ponds brimming with a wide array of freshwater fish.

The gardens at the Salmon Ponds are the perfect setting to enjoy lunch or stroll along the river. You might get lucky and spot a platypus.

Next on our list is the wilderness wonderland of Mt Field National Park. Get ready for stunning walks through large fern forests, some of the world’s tallest trees and the beautiful Russell Falls.

Kunanyi / Mount Wellington

Mount Wellington is officially known as Kunanyi / Mount Wellington and is situated in the south-east coastal region of Tasmania. Hobart city is built on the foothills of the mountain. It also is the summit of the Wellington Range.

Kunanyi / Mount Wellington has an altitude of 1,271 metres (4,170 ft) above sea level. It is often covered by snow, even on some summer days.  The lower slopes are covered by green forest. It boasts many walking tracks through the forests. Near the summit, you can find a lookout that provides stunning views of the city of Hobart. From Hobart City, you can see characteristic cliffs of dolerite columns. These are known as the Organ Pipes.

Bushy Park

Bushy Park is often called the hop capital of Tassie. It is a charming village with an English feel to it. Its charm comes mainly from the 19th-century houses, deciduous trees and hop fields. The village is surrounded by tall hop vine frames. Cute and exotically shaped oast houses are waiting to process the harvest.

Mt Field National Park

Mt Field National Park is the first national park of Tasmania. It is known for its stunning vistas, abundant wildlife, great walks and excellent visitor facilities.

The star attraction of the park is Russell Falls. It also featured on the first Australian stamp. A short walk from the visitor centre takes you to Russell Falls, through enormous fern forests and some of the world's tallest trees. The park boasts an array of natural wonders and incredible plant diversity that increases with altitude.
