We love that this tour takes you to some of the Red Centre's hidden spots, like Pimba and Wilmington.
This 6 day / 5 night tour starts in Alice Springs and explores all the Red Centre has to offer. Enjoy an action-packed trip with hikes through the Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park and amazing sunrises and sunsets. You'll hike Watarrka (Kings Canyon) and spend time at Kings Creek Station, a working camel farm. You'll also see Coober Pedy, the world's opal capital where you'll sleep like the locals in an underground bunkhouse. Then, explore the southern Flinders Ranges before arriving at our final destination of Adelaide.
From Alice Springs, journey across the rugged Outback to Uluru. Nothing will prepare you for the sight of The Rock - it’s awesome!
Learn about the region’s indigenous history at the Uluru Kata Tjuta Aboriginal Cultural Centre before taking an easy walk around the base of Uluru and learn more about Aboriginal interpretations from your Culturally Accredited Groovy Guide.
There’s no better way to finish the day than watching the amazing sunset over Uluru, before snuggling inside your swag under the star-studded desert sky.
After an early breakfast, head to Kata Tjuta for a sumptuous sunrise and visit the majestic Valley of the Winds. With its ancient rock formations and extraordinary views, this is a magical spot.
The hikes here can be challenging at times with steep sections and duration of about 3 ½ hours, but the scenery is worth it!
After a good hike, relax back at the campground and take a dip in the swimming pool.
Today, it's time to set out for Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon).
You’ll need to stop to admire and photograph the massive sandstone walls, vast canyon floor and breath-taking gorges. On the Canyon Rim Walk (3-4 hours) experience the beautiful Garden of Eden and learn more about local Aboriginal culture.
Along the way to Coober Pedy, the Opal Capital of the World, you’ll notice the incredible change of scenery.
Once you arrive in the quaint town, you'll get the chance to visit the Opal Mine and Museum. Here you’ll learn the history of the town.
You'll also visit Josephine’s Kangaroo Orphanage, where you can meet the rescued kangaroos and baby joeys and admire (or buy) Aboriginal art and didgeridoos.
Later, you’ll get the chance to taste one of the most amazing pizzas in the outback before spending the night in a bunkhouse. Tonight you're sleeping the way the locals do - underground!
After breakfast, journey south into the foothills of the magnificent Flinders Ranges. On the way, stop to view the salt lakes. You'll also stop en route for lunch before driving to Wilmington.
On the way, stop at Pimba and take a look at the salt lakes.
Your camp tonight is beautiful, surrounded by red gum trees and many stars.
Enjoy a morning walk through the stunning Alligator Gorge, which is sometimes bursting with wildflowers and amazing wildlife.
You might get the chance to spot kangaroos or wallabies, so keep your eyes open!
Later, enjoy your last lunch with the group before heading to Adelaide.
