WHAT TO EXPECT
Granada is a privileged city to walk around. You can find traces of a splendid historical past in almost every corner, which the expert guide in your group will show you.
We will start in Plaza Nueva, admiring one of the constructions that changed the most the physiognomy of the city and astonishing ourselves with the Real Chancillería, which was the highest court of appeal of the Corona de Castilla; admiring Plaza Nueva, the church of Santa Ana and the Pilar del Toro, each of them being a part of one of the most important places of today’s Granada.
We will walk down the Darro riverbed, to see the old Al-Funduq (Corral del Carbón), one of the few Muslim buildings of commercial use that are still preserved, and we will also stroll through its streets, visiting the old silk market, where thousands of stalls will captivate our senses with their colours and smells.
Later on we will visit the Madraza, founded by Yusuf I in 1349, precursor of the university that preserves so much tradition even today in Granada.
We will proceed to enter inside the Royal Chapel, where the Reyes Católicos chose to be buried in order to leave a permanent reminder of the hard work they had to do to win this city back and the pride they took for it.
We will also visit the Cathedral, which began to be built by Emperor Charles V, showcasing this unfinished jewel that takes into account various styles, from Gothic to Baroque, through the Renaissance and inside of which important paintings and sculptures are safely stored.
At the end, we will finish the tour in front of the cathedral, having one of the famous tapas that have made of our city a gastronomic adventure. Enjoy your vacation with us.
In summer we recommend wearing fresh clothes, comfortable shoes and bring sunscreen.
In winter it can get quite cold, so it is recommended to bring a coat and possibly a raincoat as well.
You will receive the exact meeting details when the tour reservation is confirmed.
