Why do we love this

We love the different sightseeing experience this tour gives you. Seeing Lake Wanaka form the water is a different and exciting way to do things.

WHAT TO EXPECT

This the best way to spend half a day at Lake Wanaka and escape the crowds. An easy guided paddle along the beautiful Lake Wanaka coastline, complete with incredible scenery and water views. Suitable for all levels this trip is a favourite for all.

Your adventure starts at either at the Wanaka I-site or right at your accommodation door! For here, you'll enjoy a free transfer to the start location. Meet your guides and drive down to the lake, where you will all hop onto a water-taxi and begin a 15-minute scenic cruise. Your destination is a remote section of the lake that's beautiful and untouched. Here, your guide will explain the plan for the day.

Next, you’ll get your safety gear on and partake in a quick kayaking skills lesson. Afterwards, it's time to get on the water!
The pace you paddle at is determined by the group dynamics, and whether you're more interested in taking photos or in testing out your Olympic sprint time.

No matter how fast you go, after about an hour your guide will find you a gorgeous spot to take a rest and have a picnic. Enjoy a light beverage and one of the famous 'Paddle Wanak brownies. Yum!

After lunch, loop back to your start point, exploring a few more hidden gems along the way. You might catch glimpses of Stevensons Island, The Peninsula and even Glendhu Bay.

Once you reach your start point, you'll leave the kayaks behind and hop back on the water taxi for a scenic cruise back into town.

Your guide will then drop you back off where you started.

Please note exact location/route may vary depending on the conditions. Allow 4 hours for this tour. Tours depart 9.00am and 2.00pm.
