Discover the beautiful ancient city of Ayutthaya in Thailand during this 9 hour tour! Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ayutthaya is located north of Bangkok and it used to be the capital of the Kingdom of Siam, and a prosperous international trading port. The ruins of the old city now form the Ayutthaya Historical Park, an archaeological site that contains palaces, Buddhist temples, monasteries and statues.
This is an awesome all-in-one trip to Ayutthaya; you’ll be visiting four temples, strolling along the historical site, grabbing some local foods, learning about the Thai culture and the history, feeding elephants, and much more. Once an important center of global diplomacy and commerce, Ayutthaya is now an archaeological ruin, characterized by the remains of tall prang (reliquary towers) and Buddhist monasteries of monumental proportions, which give an idea of the city’s past size and the splendor of its architecture. You’ll visit sites like Bang Pa-In Palace (also known as the Summer Palace) which King Prasat Thong constructed in 1632.
Your host, Au Saris, believes friendship is important more than money. She enjoys showing guests the beauty of this land and you’ll learn a lot from her. Feel free to ask any questions and let her know if there’s a specific point of interest you’d like to discover!
