WHAT TO EXPECT
Climb on board New Zealand's original adrenalin fix for 1 hour of unforgettable spins, thrills and exhilaration!
Your KJet boat ride soars across three waterways in one of New Zealand's most stunning locations. Shoot across the crystal clear waters of Lake Wakatipu and take in the spectacular mountain ranges and mesmerising scenery that will really take your breath away.
Zoom under the Kawarau Dam and onto the beautiful green waters of the Kawarau River - complete with 360-degree spins!
Your driver will then navigate you towards the fast-moving currents of the narrow Shotover River, and it is here that the adventure really heightens! Race up the shallow channels at speeds of 85 kilometres per hour in water that is as shallow as 10cm! Our extremely knowledgeable and experienced drivers will stop for breathers and provide you with an informative commentary about Queenstown and the surrounding areas.
After your Jet boat experience, you can then enjoy complimentary entry into Queenstown's Underwater Observatory. Here, you can gain an informative and fascinating insight into the underwater inhabitants of the beautiful Lake Wakatipu and view the trout, eels and ducks just metres from the lake shore. You will also learn about the Maori mythological history of the lake from the informative storyboards, as well as all about the 55-year history of KJet.
What to Bring:
During summer, you'll need sunscreen & sunglasses. In winter, it does get chilly, so dress warmly and bring a jacket, hat and gloves. Life jackets are provided onboard along with optional waterproof jackets. You are allowed to bring cameras on board but at your own risk.
Can I take my bags on the boat?
KJet provide complimentary storage for your belongings, however there is limited storage available so please keep in mind that they can only store handbags and small backpacks.
Will I get wet?
The best part of Jet boating is the spray and drama! KJet provide full-length spray jackets (with hoods) to wear under your life jacket so you will be kept mostly dry.
