Your wild rides starts with a high-speed trip across picturesque Lake Te Anau where you'll be surrounded by majestic mountains and ancient forests. This is a seriously magical place that's steeped in Maori history. Legend has it that Rakaihautu, a legendary Maori leader, named the great lakes while exploring the South Island.
As you travel, marvel at the Murchison Mountains, which rise a staggering 1,400 metres above the lake surface.
Next, skim across the water towards Dock Bay. This is where you'll catch a breathtaking glimpse into theFiordland National Park. Look across at the ancient beech forests that surround Lake Te Anau, unchanged for 80 million years and savour the moment - you don't see views like this every day!
