Dry Season (May-Oct)

Day 1 - Cooinda (lunch, dinner)

You'll be collected from your Darwin accommodation at approximately 7.00am this morning, ready to begin the short journey to Litchfield National Park. Explore the waterfalls, spring-fed streams and rugged sandstone escarpments that make this spot so special. Discover intriguing cathedral and magnetic termite mounds, swim, hike and explore Florence and Wangi Falls and enjoy a picnic lunch. Yum!

After lunch, leave the highway behind and hit the dirt track. Make your way along Marrakai Road before joining the Old Jim Jim Road that will take you deep into Kakadu National Park. As you travel past billabongs and traversing water crossings, there's ample opportunity for wildlife spotting.

Later, head to your private campsite at Cooinda, complete with comfortable permanent tents. Enjoy some stargazing tonight as you chat with your fellow travellers.

Day 2 - Kakadu National Park, Ubirr (breakfast, lunch, dinner)
Wake early for breakfast this morning, before heading to Kakadu National Park to join an iconic Yellow Waters Cruise. This is a must-do activity win Kakadu National Park - an award-winning cruise that is Aboriginal owned. The trip centres around a spectacular billabong system that is home to some remarkable and diverse wildlife. Spotting crocodiles is one fun activity to do here!

Afterwards, travel to nearby Nourlangie Rock to learn about the Indigenous culture. Here you can see how local Aboriginal people lived in this area through changing times. Stories from over 20,000 years of Aboriginal occupation are told through the rock art here.

After lunch visit the Bowali Visitor Centre, a Gun-djeihmi name for the local area and creek on land owned by the Mirarr clan. Explore the Marrawuddi Gallery that showcases Aboriginal art by artists from within Kakadu and the wider region.

Later this afternoon, head to the culturally significant Aboriginal art site of Ubirr.  Located within the East Alligator region of the Park, this is another great sport of Aboriginal art. Learn the story of the Rainbow Serpent and climb the Nadab Lookout for panoramic views over the floodplain and beyond into Arnhem Land.

After learning about the area, it’s time to pick out a quiet spot to sit while we watch the sunset over the Kakadu escarpment.

Once the sun has set, its time to make your way to the private campsite for the night.

Day 3 - Twin and Jim Jim Falls (breakfast, lunch)
Today, the jewels of Kakadu National Park await. Departing early, travel to Twin and Jim Jim Falls for some waterfall action.

Twin Falls is accessed by 4-wheel drive track, a boat shuttle service and a rocky walking track and boardwalk. Once you arrive, it's time to relax on the sandy banks and admire the falls.

There’s more 4-wheel driving to come as you make our way to Jim Jim Falls. A walk through monsoon forest and over boulders awaits, and will lead you to the waterfall and plunge pool, surrounded by 150-metre cliffs.

That afternoon, relax in the natural surrounds and take in the sheer beauty of the Park.

Later, make your way back to Darwin and your accommodation. You won't forget the past three magical days of adventure, culture and wildlife!

You'll arrive back in Darwin in the early evening.

Dietary:

We have Gluten free foods on our Safaris with most being naturally gluten free such as rice, rice cakes, etc. We provide gluten free pasta. We do not provide specialist items such as Gluten Free muesli and bread. Generally speaking foods that naturally have gluten we do not provide a gluten free option of (ie bread). We have lots of fresh vegetables and fruit with meat dishes cooked separately to vegetable dishes to cater for those that choose not to eat meat. Also, with anyone who is Lactose Intolerant, we do not provide any milk substitutes. So, if you prefer to carry any, that’s not a  problem, we can store it for you.

If you want a specific food item we ask that you provide this yourself no matter your dietary requirement.

Allergies:

We find many people with allergies, particularly nut allergies. It is important for guests to know that whilst we will not purposely give them a food with their allergen in it, it is their responsibility to check the label if they are concerned. We do allow guests to provide their own snacks and we cannot control what other guests choose to bring themselves, therefore if someone has a nut allergy for example, we cannot guarantee that people on the vehicle will be not eating nuts and it is their responsibility to look after their health needs. Generally on our trips the only food source that will have nuts is Muesli bars. All allergies, no matter how small must be disclosed and noted prior to departure.
