This 4-day, 3-night tour is full of discoveries, adventures and lots of fun. Explore all the natural and cultural gems that these cities have to offer during the day. Then, hang out with your new group of friends and enjoy the areas' dining and nightlife scenes in the evening. 

 

Mexico City is a vibrant, bustling hub full of ancient Mexican history as well as a thriving contemporary culture. Tuxpan is the closest port city to Mexico City, making it a huge hub for imports and exports to the area. From start to finish, you will be assisted by a knowledgable local guide who will share all the details and history of both areas. They will provide information in Spanish or English according to your needs.

 

 

Day 1: Mexico City 


Bienvenidos a Ciudad de Mexico - the largest city in Latin America where ancient and modern culture coexist in harmony. The city is a world-class cultural hub that offers a huge variety of museums, galleries, and architectural gems, along with bustling nightlife and diverse gastronomic culture. Arrive at any time before meeting your group and trip leader at your hotel at 2 pm. After a short welcome meeting, go for a walking tour in the historic city centre, followed by a guided visit to the National Anthropology Museum. In the evening, join the group for an optional dinner and get-together in one of the local restaurants/bars.

Day 2: Mexico City - Teotihuacan - Xicotepec - Tuxpan


Wake up and eat breakfast. Around 9 am, you will head to Teotihuacan (UNESCO) - a complex of awesome pyramids set amid what was once Mesoamerica’s greatest city. After a tour around the archeological zone continue to Xicotepec - a "Magic Town" hidden among the clouds and mountains, famous for its coffee production and unique combination of the pre-Hispanic and colonial cultures. Enjoy an optional lunch and walking tour around the town. Then we will go to Tuxpan - a quiet fishing town known for its excellent seafood, wide sandy beaches, and nearby coral reefs. Upon arrival to our accommodation on the beach, you can take your time to enjoy the weather and sea before going out to the Tuxpan centre in the evening. Participate in an orientation walk, optional dinner and get-together in one of local restaurants/bars.

Day 3: Tuxpan - Tuxpan Coral Reef - Cristo Redentor - El Tajin - Papantla


In the morning after breakfast, we will take a boat to nearby Tuxpan Coral Reef - a perfect place to see colourful corals and practice snorkelling. After getting back and checking out from our accommodation, we will go to visit the impressive pyramids of El Tajín (UNESCO) - one of the best-preserved and important pre-Hispanic cities in Mesoamerica, visiting a giant statue of Christ the Redeemer on our way. After exploring the archeological zone, we will continue to nearby Papantla, a "Magic Town" famous for its indigenous heritage and vanilla-growing traditions. There, you'll see Totonacs wearing traditional clothing, "voladores" performing their "flying dance" and local artisans peddle handicrafts in the attractive main square. Check-in, walking tour around the historic center, optional farewell dinner & get-together in one of local restaurants/bar.

Eat breakfast, check-out and head back to Mexico City, arriving there around 12 pm. On your way back, enjoy impressive panoramic views while crossing the 225-metre-high San Marcos Bridge (12th highest in the world) which, when it’s foggy, makes you feel like you are among the clouds.

  • No airport pickup is included in this tour, so you will need to reach our accommodation independently by public transport or taxi. If you need any advice or help with organizing your transfer (we can book it for you for an extra fee) please let us know.
  • The exact address and name of the accommodation will be shared with you after your booking is confirmed. You will meet your group and tour leader at your accommodation on Day 1 during a welcome meeting.
  • If you choose a Double/Triple/Quad room option, please let us know your preferable bed allocation (separate single beds vs. king-size beds) when booking and we will do our best to satisfy your request.


Cancellation Policy:

  • Cancellation of the Tour is associated with fees that depend on the number of days remaining from cancellation of the contractual relationship to the beginning of the Tour:
    • 60 days and more before the start of the Tour: 0% of the remainder of payment;
    • 30-59 days before the start of the Tour: 25% of the remainder of the payment;
    • 15-29 days before the start  of the Tour: 50% of the remainder of the payment;
    • less than 15 days before the start of the Tour, including the case when the Customer is absent on the Tour without prior notice to the Company: 100% of the remainder of the payment.
    • In cases of First and Second of this point, the Customer has a right to change the dates of his/her travel without cancellation fees by choosing the future date of departure for the same Tour or another Tour with the same or lower price. This right can be applied only once per each booking.
    • The Customer does not pay cancellation fees if he/she arranges a substitute participant for a Tour. Notification of a change in the name of the customer must be made no later than 15 days before the start of the Tour unless the Company and the existing Customer agrees otherwise. The notice must be in writing and must include a statement from a substitute participant that he/she agrees with the booked travel agreement. The original Customer and substitute participant is jointly and severally responsible for paying the remainder of the price of the Tour.
  • Cancellation fees of all extra services booked with the Company (airport transfers, pre, and post-night accommodations, single room surcharge and additional activities):
    • 31 days or more before the beginning of the Tour: free cancellation.
    • 30 days or less before the beginning of the Tour: 100% of the price of extra services.
