WHAT TO EXPECT

Artists and photographers have been drawn to Zion National Park for the past 100 years in an effort to capture its infinite beauty and colours. The incredible landscape is a perpetual source of inspiration and renewal for all. This immersive day trip from Las Vegas takes you deep into the heart to experience this incredible landscape for yourself.

Zion National Park, just 163 miles from Las Vegas is located near Springdale, Utah, and covers 229 square miles (590 km2) at the junction of the Colorado Plateau, Great Basin, and the Mojave Desert regions. The park’s unique geography and variety of life zones allow for unusual plant and animal diversity.

The primary feature of the park is Zion Canyon, which is 15 miles (24 km) long and up to half a mile (800 m) deep cut through the sandstone by the North Fork of the Virgin River. Other notable geographical features of the park which leave visitors in awe include the Virgin River NarrowsThe Great White Throne, Checkerboard MesaThe Three Patriarchs, and Kolob Arch. The geology of the Zion and Kolob Canyons area includes nine formations that together represent 150 million years of mostly Mesozoic-aged sedimentation. This entire area is truly a spiritual experience.

Zion Canyon’s Scenic Drive cuts through its main section, leading to forest trails along the Virgin River. The river flows to the Emerald Pools, which have waterfalls as well as a wonderful hanging garden. The scenery is like the set of a movie where the art director was given carte blanche and didn’t worry about believability. Though you won't care because it’s delicious to look at!

While you're here, keep an eye out for the wildlife – the park is home to 289 bird, 79 mammal, 28 reptile, 7 fish, and 6 amphibian species. Common daytime animals include mule deer, rock squirrels, pinyon jays, as well as whiptail and collared lizards. Desert cottontails, jackrabbits, coyotes, grey foxes, and ring-tail cats are the top daily participants. Golden eagles, red-tailed hawks, peregrine falcons, and white-throated swifts can also be seen in the area. Finally, California condors and bighorn sheep are also not shy as they are commonly spotted in the canyon. This is a very special place indeed!

This small-group tour takes in all these incredible sights, complete with a tasty picnic lunch surrounded by this incredible natural beauty. You'll also enjoy return hotel transport from Las Vegas in luxury, air-conditioned comfort in either a luxury SUV or VIP mini-coach.
