What to Expect
Oahu’s South Shore is the ideal place for a Hawaiian boat tour. Your guides onboard the Haleiwa Queen know the island like the back of their hand, so you’ll see the best that the region has to offer.
Enjoy the beauty of the coast as the boat heads out from the slip in the Kewalo Basin Harbor and travels toward Lē’ahi (Diamond Head). While aboard the Haleiwa Queen, enjoy the clear view of the Pacific Ocean floor as you cruise over live tropical reefs and one of Hawaii’s popular shipwrecks.
Keep an eye out for honu (sea turtles), eels, reef sharks, dolphins, and schools of tropical fish, all visible from the deck of the vessel through the glass-bottom boat viewports. You’ve never seen the ocean like this before!
During whale-watching season (November–May), humpback whales migrate through Hawaiian waters to mate and calve; so you may be able to catch a glimpse or two of these majestic creatures on your cruise. You might even hear them sing or put on a spectacular show breaching the surface with magnificent jumps.
Feel free to bring along your own snacks and drinks (including alcohol), you can store them in the onboard cooler. You'll also want to pack a camera to capture the spectacular sights and take home more than just memories. This is the perfect Oahu experience whether you're on a family vacation, romantic getaway, or travelling with a large group of friends.
Where we visit:
- Reefs and wrecks along the southern Oahu coast
- Waikiki
- Diamond Head

Passengers with mobility issues need to be able to take a step across from the dock to the boat in order to board, and then guests can then be immediately seated. Our crew can assist if needed — just make sure to arrive a little bit early! Once on board, there is plenty of space for all our guests. Walkers and collapsible wheelchairs can be brought on board. Motorized chairs or scooters are not allowed.
The boat is very stable in the water, so we rarely have people getting seasick. That said, if you’re worried about it or especially prone to motion sickness, we recommend taking your preferred brand of seasickness medication about two hours before boarding the catamaran.
Expect to see local reef fish, turtles, eels, beautiful living reef formations, and the famous South Shore of Oahu. You get spectacular views of Waikiki, Diamond Head, and the cityscape of downtown Honolulu. Sharks, dolphins, and whales may also be seen depending on the season.
