WHAT TO EXPECT
This 6-day tour offers the best of Australia's south, taking you on a magical journey through the Eyre Penisula and Flinders Ranges. A combination of coastal beauty and incredible attractions, you won't forget this trip in a hurry. It's six days jam-packed with activities, but you can be sure they'll be full of fun and natural wonders.
Day 1 - Adelaide to Flinders Ranges
It's a bright and early start today, as you head off from your Adelaide accommodation. Stop for a quick coffee in Clare, then continue on to the southern Flinders Ranges National Park. Enjoy a day full of adventure as you explore Alligator Gorge, and embark on a guided walk to the top of the ranges at Dutchmans Stern! You'll also enjoy lunch in Quorn, the home of the PichiRichi Railway, a heritage steam train.
Your camp for tonight is in Warren Gorge which has toilets but no showers. While exploring your home for the night, keep your eyes out for yellow-footed rock wallabies, which have bounced back from near-extinction.
Its an early morning start for the incredible Dutchman's Stern hike before travelling to the wild and beautiful Eyre Peninsula, one of Australia’s best-kept secrets. See some unique outback silo art in the tiny town of Kimba, and after a quick pit stop for lunch, it’s time to head to the coast to explore Venus Bay, where you’ll often spot dolphins surfing the waves, as well as Talia Caves.
In the afternoon, pull in to Coodlie Park for the night, and explore this fascinating working farm. You'll get to share a meal with other travellers tonight and sleep in some awesome swag huts. There are shower facilities here too, a great way to relax after your day of adventure.
Please note that tomorrow you will be swapping buses and joining the other group coming from Perth.
Driving time: approximately 5 hours
Hiking time: 1.5 hours
All meals included.
Day 3 - Coodlie Park & Baird Bay
This morning you’ll be swapping buses joining the tour coming from Perth and getting ready for a day filled with ocean-based adventure!
Today you’ll have the opportunity to choose how you spend your day. You can swim, snorkel and splash about with playful sea lions and dolphins on a 3-hour cruise in the calm and sheltered waters of Baird Bay (this outsourced adventure operated by Baird Bay Eco Tours, cost $170pp). Or, if you choose to stay dry, you'll have the morning at their leisure.
Later, tuck into a picnic lunch on the beach. Afterwards, you’ll hit the waters again as you participate in a learn to surf lesson with Sceale Bay Surf School on a remote and pristine beach. Those not wanting to surf will be able to relax, swim or explore.
Tonight you’ll head back to Coodlie Park for another night in the swag huts.
This morning test out your sandboarding skills in the Lake Newland Conservation Park sand dunes then explore the spectacular Eyre Peninsula coastline.
Then, head to Port Lincoln – the Seafood Capital of Australia. Yum!
Next, it's time to head to your camp spot for the night. You're staying at Mikkira Station, a private campground surrounded by eucalyptus trees and friendly koalas. Mikkira Station has toilets and shower facilities.
Are you a daredevil at heart? If so, today's the day for you! Today you'll have the chance to meet Great White Sharks at Port Lincoln, and depending on how brave you're feeling, even go cage diving with these monsters of the deep!
If staying on land is more your thing...
Today you are offered two very different itineraries depending on your love affair with fear! If you
are seeking a major adrenalin rush you can choose the optional experience of Shark Cage Diving with
Great White Sharks. Port Lincoln is the only place in Australia and one of only five in the world you
can come face to face with this incredible creature. This is a full day tour which costs $395 + $125
water entry fee.
If you choose not to shark cage dive then your day is still action-packed. Visit Lincoln National Park, which features some of the most scenic coastlines in South Australia. Then, travel along Whalers Way coastal drive to see the breathtaking coastline and some of the oldest rocks in Australia. You’ll also spot abundant native Australian wildlife such as emus and kangaroos. Next, visit Wadlata Cultural Centre and take an interpretive walk through the life of the new frontier pioneers of South Australia.
Afterwards, it's time to pick up any people returning from the Shark Cage Dive and then head to Mt. Remarkable National Park to set up camp for the night. This spot lives up to its name!

Walking time: 2 hours (if you're not doing the cage dive).
