Frequently Asked Questions about Skydive Taupo: Tandem Skydiving up to 15,000ft
What if the weather is bad?
If the weather is bad when you phone to confirm your jump we will re-schedule you for another time later that day or the next day depending on your schedule. We will give you a choice of times that we have available and you can let us know which one suits you.
Can I take my camera in the plane with me?
Due to strict regulations, customers are not permitted to take any objects with them including cameras. This is for the safety of customers, instructors and the general public.
What if I wear contact lenses or glasses?
Our views are spectacular, we don’t want you to miss them! Glasses and contact lenses can be worn and we will provide goggles.
Can my friends watch?
Absolutely. The beauty about our dropzone is that it all happens at the same place and so your friends and family will be able to see you board the aircraft and will then be able to watch you land. If you’re using one of our free pick up options, we will try our best to fit your spectators in. However, spaces are limited so we can’t guarantee them a lift.
What is the landing like?
During the registration process, you will be briefed on a number of points including landing. Our highly skilled instructors are trained to bring you back to earth as softly as possible. While we can give you a thrilling ride under your parachute, when it is time for landing, you follow some simple instructions to help aid a soft landing in front of your friends and family.
Can I skydive if I have an injury or medical problem?
If you are unsure if an existing medical condition or injury will affect your skydive, please consult with your doctor for advice. We are unable to advise on medical issues.
Is it normal to feel scared?
Tandem skydiving is an adrenaline activity and it is normal to feel a little scared, but skydiving is an amazing experience like no other. Our highly experienced instructors will talk you through everything and make you feel completely calm.
