The real MVP, Jacinda Ardern, announces return of Trans-Tasman travel from April 12.

There’s a lot you can do in 9 months, in fact, I could’ve grown a whole human in the time since NZ decided to burst our little travel bubble.
Yet here I am, childless (thank the Lawd) and bookin’ a flight to NZ faster than you can say “CONGRATS ON THE BABY”.
I digress. Anyway, in short, New Zealand will begin a phased reopening of its international borders, starting with Australia from 11.59pm on April 12.
It’s like an Easter miracle – why? Because for those of us out there who do have crotch gremlins, especially school-age ones, this reopening coincides with Australia’s school holidays. A smart move by J-Addy when looking at how this is gonna BOOST THE SH*T out of NZ’s economic recovery…at least in the short term, with ski szn also right around the corner.
Now, it ain’t all fush ‘n’ chups and rainbros, with visitors having to be vaccinated AND needing to produce a negative result from a pre-departure PCR or rapid antigen test + undergo a rapid test on arrival.
A small price to pay, if you ask me.
The UK and USA are next in line to say Kia Ora, and will be allowed to arrive under the same conditions from 11.59pm on May 1.
Anyway, I got flights to organise and some pretty fkn great tours and activities to book across The Ditch, so if you need me…check Tinder because ya girl is changin’ her radius to NZ 💁🏼♀️
