No trip to Australia is complete without visiting Red Centre, home to some of the country's greatest natural attractions. If you've yet to visit Uluru, then jump on this tour which showcases the best of the region in less than three days!
This trip covers all the best attractions that Red Centre has to offer, including Watarrka National Park/Kings Canyon, where you can visit the Lost City, Amphitheatre, Garden of Eden and North and South Walls. Your tour will also include a visit to the massive boulders and plunging gullies of Kata Tjuta (the Olgas).
Day 1: Alice Springs to Uluru (Ayers Rock)
While Melbourne's great for its art and Sydney's ideal for its beaches, Alice Springs is a league of its own. It's a must-visit for anyone looking to understand the origins of Australia. Sure, Alice may only be home to 25,000 people, but it attracts tourists from near and far who want to visit Ayers Rock and surrounds.
The first stop of this tour is a visit to an outback camel farm, where you will get to ride atop your own ‘ship of the desert’. After a stop for lunch, you will head on to Kata Tjuta for a hike through the 36 large rock domes that make up this renowned area.
Surely after all that activity, you will need a break. So as the sun begins to set, relax with a glass of bubbles and observe the amazing colour change of Ayers Rock.
Finally, you will head back to camp for a delicious spread of food and wine with your tour group. If the weather permits, you can sit outside under the stars.
- Uluru & Kata Tjuta National Park Entrance
Day 2: Uluru Sunrise
Wake up early to catch the sunrise over Uluru and watch the rock change colours along with it.
You will then walk around the base of Uluru with your guide, who will teach you about the land and the local Mala Aboriginal people. Next, head to the cave paintings near Mutitjulu Waterhole, which is at Uluru's base. Your Anangu guide will share the stories of this unique landscape and explain the importance of connection to the land, which inspires local art and traditions.
After a break for lunch, you will get the chance to browse Uluru Cultural Centre for a look at some local arts and handicrafts. Then continue your journey to Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon), where the group will eat dinner and spend the night.
- 2 hours (or up to 4 hours if you do the full 8.5km / 5.3mi base walk)

Day 3: Kings Canyon rim walk
Eat breakfast with your group, then get ready to hike Red Centre's soaring sandstone canyon. Your trek through Kings Canyon will include the Amphitheatre, the Lost City, the lush and ancient Garden of Eden and the North and South Walls. Once done, refuel with a group lunch, and then return to Alice Springs, where you will be free to continue your travels.
