WHAT TO EXPECT
Tasmania is a magical place, full of rugged wilderness, hidden treasures and stunning views.
Dive into its natural beauty and enjoy picturesque beaches, breathtaking scenery and magical locations on this 3-day trip from Launceston.
Discover Freycinet National Park and Wineglass Bay, take a dip in the clear blue water at the magical Bay of Fires and sit back and take in beautiful vistas on a scenic coastal drive from St Helens to Bicheno.
Get ready to be wowed.
Day 1: Launceston - Bicheno
Today, your adventure will start in Launceston and then it's off to the East Coast and the beautiful Bay of Fires! If the conditions are right, this is the perfect place for a swim.
Later, head on Tasmania’s most scenic coastal drive from St Helens to Bicheno, and visit a wildlife sanctuary along the way. Here, come face to face with the iconic Tasmanian devil.
Tonight, there's more wildlife action with the opportunity to join an evening viewing of the Little Penguins (optional at your own expense and seasonal).
You'll overnight in Bicheno.
Day 2: Freycinet National Park - Hobart
An early start means you'll be the first to the Wineglass Bay lookout. You'll be able to snap that postcard photo without the crowds. Wineglass Bay is among the top beaches in the world, so it's worth capturing the moment!
Walking into the Bay, you'll be wowed by the crescent of dazzling white sand set against a bright blue sea. With pink and grey granite peaks in the background, this is one of Australia's most beautiful natural environments. Relax for a while on the secluded beach here, or, if you're feeling like a challenge embark of the Mt Amos or Hazards Beach walk.
Later, continue further along the scenic east coast via the seaside towns of Swansea and Orford. Both are small, friendly towns with a quaint coastal air that adds to their magic. They're perfect for a quick afternoon explore. After wandering their streets, you'll continue on the road toward Hobart for the night.
Day 3: Port Arthur Historic Site
After a quick look at Australia’s best preserved colonial village, Richmond, you'll head south to explore Tasmania’s ruthless convict past at the World Heritage listed Port Arthur Historic Site.
The area was a 19th-century penal settlement and today is an open-air museum. You'll learn about Tasmania's convict history and can imagine yourself transported back in time as you explore.
A guided walk and harbour cruise are included today. You'll head back to cosy Hobart, arriving at 5.30 pm. There, it's time to wave goodbye to your new friends.
This is a 3-day, 2-night tour. This tour begins in Launceston at 7:30am and finishes in Hobart at 5.30pm. If you would like to begin this tour in Hobart, please see the Tassie Magic Hobart to Hobart Tour.
