Is skydiving safe?
At Sydney Skydivers safety always comes first, fun comes in a close second.
Our fun team of instructors are all APF accredited and highly experienced; our modern sports skydiving equipment is maintained and serviced to strict standards. All our crew abide by our stringent safety regulations and those of the Australian Parachute Federation.
Our company director has over 32,000 personal skydives and is the single most experienced skydiver and senior instructor in Australia and the second most experienced in the world with that level of experience and jump numbers.
Skydiving is an extreme sport, and like any extreme sports, there is a certain amount of risk involved. We operate to a strict set of regulatory procedures and guidelines. Our staff, equipment and operations are all regularly audited by Safety Officers of the APF who approve and renew our APF club membership.
Recent statistics in Australia stated that 1 in 10,000 skydives resulted in accident or injury. Compared with the statistics for registered cars in reported accidents being 9.8% , the most dangerous part of your day is likely to be driving to the skydiving centre !
How many can go up in the same plane?
That all depends on how many friends you have doing their skydive, and which aircraft we are using on the day of your booking.
Sydney Skydivers operates large turbine aircraft which are perfect for groups, however exact numbers on aircraft are affected by weights, how many want camera and other operational factors.
Groups on the aircraft can vary from 2-3 people up to 5-7 people. We can advise you on the day who and how many will be on each plane load and we will do our best to accommodate group requests.
What time will we be jumping?
The time you are booked for is your check-in time only or your shuttle departure time only, not your flight's departure time or jump time.
When you arrive you need to check-in and complete some paperwork and then you are assigned to a load. Please ensure you check in on time.
If you have any special time constraints or needs please ensure you notify us at the time of booking.
We do our best to keep the day running smoothly but sometimes we are held up due to unforeseen circumstances. These include weather holds, there are certain wind and cloud conditions that can delay us. Air Traffic Control also have a say in when and where we can fly, we have real-time flight departure boards to keep you informed of your flight and staff will keep you updated in regard to timings or any delays.
Safety is of the utmost importance to us and if we have to wait on the ground for half an hour to ensure your safety, then we will.
Whilst we endeavour to complete an individual’s jump in a timely manner or get your shuttle bus away on time after your jump you should plan for this to be at least a half-day’s activity and advise us at the time of booking if you have any other tours or tour bookings on the same day.
Are there any weight restrictions for skydiving?
The max weight is 110 kg.
Over 95kg charges apply.
Over 95kg $25
Over 100 kg $50

How much time should I allow for my skydive?
You should allow a half a day.
Skydiving is an outdoor adventure activity and sometimes factors out of our control can delay the jump, we get put on hold by air traffic control or the weather can add to delays.
You should allow for skydiving to be your only main activity and set aside a 1/2 day. If you have any time constraints or other tour bookings please advise us at the time of booking and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
What are the physical requirements for skydiving?

95kg and over $25
100kg and over $50

All bookings are given a checkin time only. This is not a jump time. Failure to turn up at the assigned checkin time may result in delays to your jump. You will need to checkin and complete paperwork and briefings prior to your jump so it is important that you arrive and checkin on time. Bookings are non-refundable however you may change your booking date or checkin time with 24hrs prior notice.

Safety is a large consideration when skydiving, factors such as wind, cloud, rain, and other factors such as air traffic can affect the time it takes to complete your skydive activity. Weather can change for better or worse in minutes. Whilst we endeavor to complete an individual's jump within 2-3 hours of arrival, we advise you to arrive with no time constraints - you should plan for this to be at least a half- day's activity.
