WHAT TO EXPECT
There's nothing more luxurious that boat travel, and the Whitsundays in Queensland is the perfect place to do it. Set sail on a private, beautifully crafted Tasmanian schooner and sail through one of Australia's most beloved destinations for three days and two nights.
You will board the majestic New Horizon traditional sailing vessel in the afternoon. At approximately 2:15 pm, this Tasmanian timber boat will set sail, first cruising through Whitsunday Passage. You will pass the Molle group of islands along the southern end of Hook Island.
You will stop at Nara inlet for the night, which is a great place to sleep thanks to it's calm, quiet waters sheltered by the bay around it. Once anchored, you will have plenty of time to swim in the warm waters of the bay and enjoy your beautiful surroundings. Then, it's time for dinner! Enjoy a meal of oven-baked Hake fish served with herb and lemon dressing on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes, plus homemade crunchy coleslaw and fresh Aussie Damper and rolls on the side.
After dinner, feel free to relax, play games or look out for dolphins that may come to play. Typically, they stay beside the boat all night long, entertaining guests as they chase around other sea creatures.
Arrive at Whitehaven beach at 6 am with a 6:30 wake-up call. Enjoy a continental breakfast of bread, fruit, yoghurt and cereal plus hot tea and coffee. After breakfast, your experienced tour guide will take you to a lookout point which is the 4th most photographed place in Australia. The spot overlooks the pristine beauty of hill inlet on Whitehaven Beach.
Then, head to North Whitehaven Beach, where you will be able to get off the boat and feel the soft, white silica sand, soak up the sun, take a dip in the water or play games on the shore. Return back to the boat at 11 am to continue on to your next destination. Enjoy a lunch of cold cuts, pasta, salads, rolls and wraps.
Then, it's time for diving and snorkelling! Prepare to be awe-struck by the diverse and colourful world of undersea creatures that inhabit this area. It is one of the oldest and richest ecosystems on Earth. After that amazing activity, spend some time on the onboard diving platform. If time allows, you can also snorkel some more. Then, freshen up as your chef prepares some afternoon snacks and warm beverages.
As the sun begins to set, the ship will set sail once again, allowing for beautiful views over the water. If time allows, you can watch the sunset on a beautiful sandy spit off an island called Langford. Then, cap off the night with an interactive and informative chart read plus a dinner of spaghetti bolognese.
The last day of your tour will begin with a 6 am wakeup call. You will sail to your diving and snorkelling destination where you will have plenty of time to explore the underwater environment. You can also have a go at paddle-boarding, banana boat or JetBoat riding (banana boating and JetBoating are an additional cost). After you finish up there, spend some time playing on the ship's water slide or diving board.
At approximately 10 am, you will head back to Airlie Beach, arriving at 12 pm. But the fun's not over yet! Once you're back, you will get the chance to attend an exclusive after-party organised with Boaty’s and Boom Nightclub. Enjoy VIP discounts on food and drinks to round off the end of an amazing trip.
